Anyone Adopt, in the process, or an adoptee?

If so...I would like to be your pal on here. Not only to share about adoption but our weight loss journey as well.

    Well, I was "adopted" by my step mother (after my father kidnapped me from my mom) but it's not a positive story. lol There are people in my family who adopted children that no one wanted (mentally handicapped, severe health problems, etc) which is a very positive story.

    I wasn't legally adopted by my step-father (when I moved back in with my Mom at 14 yo), but he treated me like his own and I have awesome memories of him. He stood by me through everything, and I'm sure it wasn't easy! He was a real Dad. He died at age 56, in 2008.

    I was pretty cut to shreds on a post where I suggested adopting over surrogacy. :ohwell:

    Thanks so much for replying! I am in no way trying to start one of those messy catty arguments on what way is best to parent a child....I'm just wanting to make some pals who have either been through it, or are wanting to go through it.

    LOL... I'm so happy you had a wonderful Step-father who took you in! That's what we all need.....someone to love us!

    Adopted child here. Was in and out of foster care for a long time & finally adopted at 9. Was considered "unadoptable" because of damage & age. Seems like an odd topic, are you planning on adopting a child?
