OK, I am positive that there are many times many buried threads on this subject so I apologize profusely, oh hell, who am I kidding, no I don't. Anyway. I'm fat, like not just a little fat, I'm DuAmn fat. People close elevators in fear for their lifes when they see me coming. I'm working on that. What I am trying to find are some exercise videos aimed more at those of us with mobility issues.

I've got two bad knees, arthritis, back problems and more. P90X aint happenin for a while. I need something slow paced, not very hard on the joints, but still fun to do. I was thinking about Tai Chi or something along those lines but the videos that I have found are just absolute crap.

Suggestions?

netflix has "arm chair" yoga its suposed to be good for mobility problems
  • I read somewhere that just simple movement of any kind is supposed to help when losing weight. I understand some of the problems that you have. I have two bad knees as well as well as osteo-arthristis in both knees and a couple of other problems too hard to spell as well wrong with them as well. I picked up a strenght and conditioning workout video the other day and went to try it out today and realized that while it's great and all; most of the activities are spent on my knees which I cannot do. I do a lot of activities that I can standing up or sitting down that include stretching. I walk when I can and we have a stationary bike that I ride 3 to 4 times a week that I'm up to 20 minutes on now. When I first got on it a couple of months ago I could only do 3 minutes, so I've come a long way. If you find something that works great, let me know.

The way I find new exercises DVDs is Youtube. Like I watch them on there before I go through the trouble of downloading or ordering them. Type taichi for fitness DVD into Youtube and see if anything more interesting than what you've found comes up? I hope this ia helpful!

I just watched that video and I'm not ashamed to admit, I cried like a girl. What an amazing inspiration that man is. I think I just found a new hero.

I'd say though that DDP Yoga isn't standard yoga. It's got yoga moves in it, but other stuff too, like MMA.

OP: start with whatever it is you enjoy. Going for a walk, swimming, biking - all pretty easy to do, easy on the joints too. You can progress to more intense stuff as your strength/ stamina improves.

bc of my stomach flab jiggles w/it. So I do them
