I was once really healthy, but I stopped caring. For years now I have just eaten whatever I wanted and not exercised. Eating has been my way of dealing with stress. I'm lucky I'm not a lot bigger than I am. Finally after seeing my doctor more often and actually following his advice, I feel good enough to care about being healthy again. So now I have been trying to eat healthy and exercise for about 3 weeks now.

I am 30 years old, 5'3" and officially started at about 172 lbs, but I was maintaining around 180. So far I have lost about 8 pounds! It's not been easy and I'm still trying to figure out how to do this, but it's been a fun challenge so far. Looking forward to more weight loss and learning from members here. I also have a few tips of my own that I've discovered and would love to share with others who are also just starting out. I love MFP because it's really helping to keep me honest on my calorie count!

See you around...
