Three Favourite Books

  • The Great Gatsby
    In Her Shoes
    The Jungle

My tastes in books is all over the place. I love Goodreads but only have a portion of the books I've read on there (ie the ones I actually still own). And almost every book on my to read is waiting on my kindle or on my book shelf.

Currently I am reading 11/22/63. Enjoying it immensly. Not sure if it will become a re-read yet. Depends how it develops/ends.

    I love In Her shoes!
Actually, you reminded me of a book I LOVE to reread

    "Good in Bed"

Mutant Message Down Under by Marlo Morgan(a beautiful tale of a woman's mystical journey).
The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield(mind boggling)
Songs in Ordinary Time by Mary McGarry Morris(unforgettable)
  • Maybe I am weird but I haven't re-read a book yet. I only started reading avidly when I was 23 so I am trying to get through quite a bit.

My favorite hands down is Brandon Sanderson - Mistborn Series, then these in no particular order The Watchers by Dean Koontz, ALL of the Harry Potter books, The Signs of the Zodiac series by Vicki Pettersson and Stephanie Meyer's The Host. (I liked the Twilight series but HATE the movies).

The Host is one of my favourites too! My daughter also loves it. Many people frown upon it because it's Stephenie Meyer, but it's an outstanding book in my opinion.

I love threads about books. I read constantly. I swear my Nook is going to break the bank. The books I reread are:

    1. The Witching Hour (I love this book., I read it every winter. It's a great one to curl up with because it's so well-written and so long!)
    2. Anna Karenina
    3. An Historian (a really intelligent vampire book about the hunt for Dracula.0

I could list more that are recent favories. I loved and was blown away by the Double Blind. Fantastic book. I'm sure it will be a re-read.
I wish there was a virtual book club on MFP. It could be a blast.

polarsjewel: You should definitely read the Narnia books they are really good. They're some of my favorite books of all time. But then again I don't read all that often.
Right now I'm working on Pride and Prejudice. C.S. Lewis and Jane Austin both had a great gift.

I don't care if anyone makes fun of my love of that or Twilight. I read to get away in a fantasy world. I actually passed The Host onto a friend and she loves it too.

  • I LOVE to read and go through books like they're nothing. No matter what I am reading, I always read the same 3 books every year.

    1. The Life of Pi, by Yann Martel
    2. The Good Earth, by Pearl Buckley
    3. Memoirs of a Geisha, by Arthur Golden

So what books do you keep re-reading. I'm always look for new things to read.

*Note - Anything 50 Shades does not qualigy as a book!! Kidding...maybe

Life of PI, is a great book!! They're going to try and make it into a movie! Can you imagine?

    "Sisters" by Danielle Steel
"Here at the End of the world, we learn to Dance"
"The Notebook" - of course, haha...

I wish there was a virtual book club on MFP. It could be a blast.

You know, you could pretty easily make this happen. Start a book club group, invite some MFPeeps, start one thread where you discuss which book(s) to read (pin this to the top of the discussion area), and then post new weekly discussion topics for said book(s) (pin the current week's topic to the top of the boards). Viola - MFP book club!
