Would you gain weight if you had more fat but you still kept your calories under 1,200??

    No. High fat diets don't really put on more or lose less fat than low fat diets, for the same calories. Depends what else you change - more protein is usually good.

    dietary fat =/= body fat. Excess calories = added weight.

    Fat grams are more calorie dense than a carbohydrate or protein, therefore they increase your calorie intake faster.

    No, your weight would be fairly similar. But look at what the fat is coming from. If a lot of it is saturated fat and/or with little nutritional value, it's going to be less healthful for you, overall, than unsaturated fats that come paired with plenty of vitamins, protein, etc. Saturated fat isn't evil by itself either, but you want to make sure you're getting a good overall balance.
  • If you are really tiny and happen to have a very low bmr and you don't exercise at all, than yes, you will gain weight over the years on 1200 but once you gain enough than your bmr will increase so you'll stop gaining.

    Only if you decide how much to eat based on weight or volume of food.

    Calories in vs. calories out. Keep a deficit and you'll lose weight.
