Not OR but AND.

When it comes to weight loss I've always been a diet OR exercise person. I can diet all day long, and it got me to where I am now, 100lbs lighter than I was for the majority of my adult life, but I've been at the same weight now for almost three years, and even though I'm SO thankful I haven't put the weight back on, I'm pissed I haven't lost the last 30 or so lbs. Now, I've also done stints where I exercised regularly, but I didn't regulate my eating at all, I guess I thought working out would be enough.

This time, I'm going to be an AND girl, and hope that gets me the results I've been looking for. I just made a new friend and we made a plan to start exercising 7 days a week. Today was our first day, and it was great, we went for an hour long hike. I also stayed within my calories on MFP. I know it's just one day, but I feel really excited and good about it.

Will this get me out of this slump I've been in for so many years? I've flirted with the same 20 lbs, up and down, for these past few years. It's time to break out and get to my goal. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated!

Awesome! inspiring that you lost it and kept it off. I fully admit that i DON'T know you, but if you're not an exercise person, jumping into 7 days a week might be overwhelming. I know it would be for me. I started at 2 days a week and have worked up to 4 and have gotten to the point where even on days i don't exercise, i am thinking about it. If you feel overwhelmed, just step back and evaluate but i hope you are able to jump right in to the 7 days and not look back!!! :flowerforyou:

Sound like you're on the right track. You could also try some strength training. Don't know how much you enjoy that, but increasing muscle also increases metabolism. Best of luck being an AND girl!

Is there an activity you enjoy like dancing? Maybe a class would be a good start...Zumba, yoga, step aerobics? Something fun to get you moving or even just walking. Then maybe you could start lifting too? I am starting the thirty day shred program soon!
