Hello!
I want to see if there are others out there like me and if anyone has ideas to help my situation.

About 2 years ago, I lost 93 lbs w/ WW. The last 10 months of being on WW and being VERY faithful to the plan, I was plateaued. I still had 15 lbs to go to be at the top of my lifetime goal. No matter how I changed up what I was doing, I still didn't lose. I tried changing my food, changing my exercise, increasing my food, decreasing my food, doing low carb one day a week, increasing water and other things I can't even remember. I stayed the same weight within .2 of a pound. I finally quit going to WW out of frustration.

I kept the weight off for a year and got into a motorcycle accident. Since then I gained about 20 lbs. I began on here about 2 weeks ago and have kept my calorie intake around a net 1200 or less. My exercise has been jog 2 miles 3 days a week and aerobics or weights with aerobics 2-3 days a week. I had lost 2 lbs, but yesterday I weighed the same as when I started. I am SOOOOOOO frustrated.

Please tell me what I am doing wrong.

I did have my thyroid tested. The normal range is between 0.3 and 3.0. Mine is 0.5. Yes it is low, but not enough to get meds. Any ideas here?

Thanks!
Dena

Check out this link - I think yo will find that you are not eating enough.
You should be more than your BMR - number of calories to stay alive and about 20% less than you TDEE - the total calories you burn in a day. If you follow the link it will help you find these numbers. Your calorie target will include both your planned deficit and you exercise burn so you will not have to worry about eating them back.

Also remember that it can take a week or two for your body to sort things out so don't jump to change things up until you see what happen for a few weeks.

that thyroid test was checking TSH levels. Your result of 0.5 is the lower end of normal. If it gets lower it doesn't mean you have an under active thyroid but an over active one. As your levels go higher past 3 your thyroid is under active. The higher the TSH the more under active. The TSH (message) keeps been sent to your thyroid to make more thyroid hormone. If the thyroid is not responding another message is sent via TSH hence why the TSH level will increase with an under active thyroid.

I was at 1200 calories a day and found out after seven months that I wasnt eating enough and was maintaining my weight. So add calories, I know sounds crazy! :)

It sounds like you are not adding enough calories. It all depends on what your eating too. It isn't just about quanity, it's also about quality.

I have checked this out and I am going to change my food accordingly. Thanks for the input.
