Tall bloke, big belly

Hello everyone,

I started my diet yesterday having never dieted before.

I'm 6'2" and weigh in at 244lbs(110Kg), I have a normal-large frame with skinny legs and a big belly.

I have always liked a beer or two and especially cider, over the last three years I've put on over 25lbs.

I cut down on the cider but replaced it with Red Wine, drinking normally a bottle a night.

I have a good appetite but always tried to use decent ingredients in the food I cook, with most weeks including a takeaway.

I played football for a long time but now my exercise is limited to a bit of cycling and gardening.

I set my weight loss at 2 stone, and my calorie intake at around 1500-1700 per day.

I am eating a lot of fruit throughout the day as snacks and also for breakfast.

Any tips please?

  • Sounds like you have a good plan there. Booze can bloat you so maybe not drink every night ;-)

  • Well, day three begins.

    Kept my calorie count below 1800 fo both days.

    Two small glasses of wine and two nips of brandy in total.

    Dreading my first weigh in on Tuesday, if I haven't lost anything I'll probably get a kebab! :)

  • My wife was interested if I had lost any weight yesterday morning so after a bit of encouragement I weighed in 3 days early, nice surprise that I had lost 5 & 1/2 lb.

    Looking forward to Tuesday now.
