Figuring caloric intake formula

I read the article in Woman's World and the formula result was that I could eat 1440 calories per day and lose weight. However, when I did MFP, I was given 1200 calories. Why doesn't the profile match the formula in the article?

There are different formulas thats why.
MFP will give you a number based on what data you enter in.0 -
Calculating your BMR is not easy or exact by any means.
Check the stats you put into MFP. Age, weight, planned calarie defict and most important 'daily activity".
Daily Activity can be a huge one. If your my mother (age 74) who never sits, you may be burning many 100's of
calaries a day that a person who never moves does not.
Also, general BMR calculations do not really address your individual body.
If you have any specific questions, post em here, alot of people on here have pretty good understanding.0
