I'm trying to figure out suitable macro limits. Right now I'm taking in around 1500-1600 calories, and just basing my macros off of MFP. I want to make sure i'm not going over or under. My TDEE is 2017 and my BMR is 1347 if I remember correctly. I'm pretty new at this, and just want to make sure I'm getting it right.

If you use MFP's default macros, think of protein (and maybe fat) as "goals to exceed" instead of a "limit to stay under."

Personally, I aim for 50% carbs, and 25% each fat and protein. I run 3-4 times a week, and lift weights 2-3 times a week, and have no issues or sensitivities to carbs, but I know others that aim lower in carbs and higher in fat and protein.

I too run 3-4 times a week. I also lift weights but not much recently been on holiday. My macros are set at 40carbs, 30 protein and 30 fat. I do sometimes go over on carbs though and need to consciously try to get the protein in. Long run days are particularly bad as I use energy gels/drinks.

Sam as Joybedford here, mine are set at 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat. I do have to work to keep the carbs under and to get the protein, but I have had greater success with these macros than with the pre-set numbers MFP starts you with.

    I do cardio and/or strength training 5 days/week.

    Good luck!
