Myfitnesspal newbie ;)

Hello all,
My name is Lisa and this is my first time joining a weight loss community.
It is however not my first time dieting, but this time I want to do it right - healthy and not depriving myself and getting in lots of needed exercise.
My father was recently diagnosed with diabetes and heart disease - that was my wake up call.
Not only do I want to lose weight, I want to turn my health around while I am still young to avoid any potential health problems when I'm older.
I also have a husband and 4 kids I'd like to inspire.
Instead of them seeing and hearing me complain about being overweight, I'd like for them to see me doing something about it.
Perhaps my new lifestyle will rub off on the hubby ;)

Hello and Welcome...Like others this is my first time joining as well. I have tried to lose weight before but i have either been tempted by my favorite love (chocolate) or gotten discourage. However, this time I plan on doing it right.

Hello welcome to MFP, you will LOVE this site! It has helped me so much and has really taught me about how small a serving size really is and about portion control. I still have about 11 lbs to go but with the help of my MFP friends I'm slowly getting there. You can add me too if you'd like.

PS: I too am hoping it'll rub off on my hubby :) He doesn't have a whole lot of weight to lose, 15-20lbs at the most, but I really don't wanna buy him a whole new wardrobe of jeans like I had to!
