So this past few days have been really hard controlling my sweet tooth. What do others do to control this?

I've been drinking hot chocolate. You know water + powder and for about 80 calories. The thing about this is it is hot outside and it take me a long time to drink it, thus keeping my hands busy. Oh, somebody else had posted to eat one serving of dry cereal. I did this with my kids fruit loops and was drinking lots of water too. The husband says to go brush your teeth.

    Hope this helps.
  • I have found the answer to this is to reduce or eliminate diet soft drinks. If you don't eliminate them, at least never drink a diet soft drink unless you are also eating something with at least 300 calories. If you ingest something sweet but your body does not get the caloric energy to go with it, it will make your cravings go off the chart.

Also, add 1/4 cup sunflower seeds every day. Get the kind you crack with your teeth and spit out the shell, not the already hulled ones. Sunflower seeds are known to help with cravings. And finally, get Equal Exchange brand Extra Dark Panama chocolate bar with 80% Cacao and melt 2 squares of it slowly on your tongue each day. It is available at Whole Foods.
  • Watermelon. It's amazing. And you get a whole cup for only 45 calories. Totally curbs my sweet tooth. I don't even miss cake.

    Pop a Flinstone
  • Probably too much sugar, but at night sometimes when I'm desperate I have an instant oatmeal, like peaches & cream. 130-160 cals.
  • Coconut water. It's filling and just a little sweet =]

If you're a coffee lover (like me) during the morning you can pour yourself an extra cup, add any sugar and cream you like, and then throw it in the freezer. By night it should be frozen and you have a frozen coffee treat! Depending in how much cream/sugar you use it shouldn't be too high in calories. At least, compared to a Starbucks Frappacunnio (we leave those a special treats (; )

And if you're like me with a Keurig and lots of flavored coffees they never get too boring (:

But beware of putting a closed glass container in the freezer ( you may already know this, but I just learned about a few days ago. XD Just want to make sure no one ends up with broken glass in their freezer.)
