Is Man v Food legal and FDA approved ?

I'm in the midst of a ski holiday and switched on OLN and 'found' Man V Food for the first time....surely this sort of food porn can't be legal ? I've had a tasty and filling dinner of salmon and tuna sashimi yet still I want to try the Bone in the Stone steak or the Juicy Lucy burger featured on tonights show!

I really should change the channel...but at the moment I just want that guys job!

Mmmm...meat and cheese....

This is one of my favourite shows (yes I still torture myself watching it). So far I've knocked 2 places that he's visited off the list. Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland, OR (amazing) and Alice Cooperstown in Phoenix, AZ. I attempted to eat the "Adam Richman Bases Loaded Big Unit" but didn't finish it. Those 4 days in Phoenix were a write off for me but I still dropped a pound that week so I guess it wasn't so bad.

I only have OLN at a place I housesit, but whenever I am there I watch this show EVERY night. I love it! I am not American either, so I can't visit any of those places anyway. :P

I had a deep fried Juicy Lucy. Everyone else loved it but I was not a fan.

Edit: I should also say, I have had many regular juicy lucys and love them.

Whenever we're in AZ, we always go for the Sonoran hot dog that he sampled. It's a bacon wrapped hot dog with beans, cheese, sauces, and the biggest, softest bun ever! Love that show.

We actually took a road trip to a place that does a burger challenge. My hubby and his friend wanted to try the 2 lb burger - neither of them even ate 1/2 of it and just looking at it once it was brought to the table was enough to gag me..... It was a fun day to go though. I have been to a couple of other places featured and not everything was that 'bad'

It's a guilty pleasure I watch too. Thankfully the sheer thought of that food intake steers me clear of actually doing that.
  • Haha yes, its complete food porn and I don't know why but I torture myself with it too. I do agree it does almost have the effect of making me not want to eat as it reminds me of the kind of things that got me in this state in the first place. It is great to reminisce though :D I keep thinking of healthy ways to make what he is eating...hardly ever works haha

A big advantage of being in the UK is that I can watch it but the food will cost a lot more when you include travel! It is a little obscene but I love it!!!!!
