Lie to me!!!

I'm so tired of hearing people brag that they would NEVER tell anyone a little white lie... because... people would rather you be brutally honest to them and tell them that the dinner that they had been planning for weeks, cooking all day and spent a fortune on tasted like crap... right???

WRONG! Come on people, we are all adults... you know the difference between when someone is asking you something because they want your honest opinion, and when they are just asking you to get a little encouragement,.

Yep I'd sometimes rather people go ahead and lie to me than tell me the brutal truth.

i.e. When I was in the Dominican Republic a few years ago... every shop keeper told all the women that they were SOOOO BEAUTIFUL, gave us a free necklace for our neck, and then bargained on a price... did I think that all of them meant it? No of course not, did I still like it, and did it get me in the store? Yep! I mean come on... anyone can feel free to call me beautiful... they don't need to meant it!

Why are we lying to ourselves about how we would NEVER lie to anyone, and how we would NEVER want anyone to lie to us?

    I'm more of an honest person all of the time....

    However....when my friend the other day was telling me about how she didn't like this girl and then called her chunky (Then told me that she was about my body size). I would have rather not heard that lol.

    I think you can put things politely without having to lie about it. "Does this dress make me look fat?" "It's not the most flattering cut, but this other style would look hot..." ect.

    I think lying is a slippery slope. I used to think it wasn't a big deal, but after getting myself trapped in a couple white lies, I stopped. I'm a truth teller. But a considerate one :)
