Music to run to

I know there has been lots of these, but... I use my elliptical and i like to do HIIT twice - three times a week.

I need REALLY upbeat music to run to. No country, as that wants me to eat wings, drink beer and watch football. (three of my favotire things!)

I guess im not "into" a certain music, but rap makes me want to blow my ears up.. but i do like "some" that arent repetative, if that makes sense.. I dont wanna hear "holla yo" 150 times in a row.. lol.

Im going to break the bank on itunes tonight, and as usual, im drawing a blank.

Just a few that i REALLY like that i have on my ipod are:

Since you've been gone - Kelly Clarkson
Move - Thousand Foot Krutch
Anything Katy Perry
The Red - Chevelle
Strip - Chris Brown... (as i run, i sing "i just want a chicken strip" to get my kids going.. lol

Any other thoughts? Thanks!

I listen to a lot of podcasts, podrunner and Motion traxx. Motion traxx and pod runner both have HIIT mixes as well which are really pretty good. Most of the podcasts are 60 minutes which is how I can go 60 minutes at a time on the elliptical. These are free in Itunes.

I second this! Rammstein is a good band to work out to also. They're German though so unless you speak German don't expect to understand it.

ETA - Anything by NIN works well for me too.
  • Sebastian Ingrosso & Alesso ft. Ryan Tredder - Calling (Lose My Mind)

^ That is an amazing song to run to. Really gets me in the mood. I hope you like it! <3

For me it's not necessarily the music. It's the length & pace. I try and have 7 minutes of fast pace and a 2-3 minute medium pace.
Mots of the, I know by heart and can sing to them, my body is just used to the beat. When I hear a specific song at the bar enough times I know by heart, I add it to the play list.

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but I really love the mixes that are available on rockmyrun.com. I have a couple rock/pop mixes that I use over and over again for both running and weightlifting, they are super motivating and are mixed to be at a good tempo. I would definitely recommend giving them a shot!
