Anyone out there with gluten allergies/sensitivities/intolerances?

There's a Gluten Free group -- click on groups on the blue line, just to the right of message boards.

I have Celiac, and I also follow a plant based diet. So lots of fruits, veggies, rice, quinoa, safe oats, and I bake muffins etc. I don't buy vegan meat replacements or gluten free bread etc. Oh,and I love green protein smoothies.

I like rice Chex, use VH soy and teriyaki sauce (wheat free) and eat fairly unprocessed. (besides the Chex and sauces lol)

This topic has been posted repeatedly the last few weeks so if you search it you'll probably find way more ideas.

    wow. thanks.
  • In a word.....awesome! There is so much room in a GF diet for fresh food - veggies, fruits, meats, rice / potatoes. It is fairly easy to avoid gluten when you do the cooking....cornstarch (which my Grandma always used) instead of flour for thickening gravy. Fried foods and losing weight don't work for me, so no loss there!

I don't have celiac but I cut out gluten to help with internal inflammation, decided to try to manage my pain naturally instead of with meds. I find it is very easy over time to eat GF, and you eat so much better in general without having to even worry, whereas if you're eating gluten you're weighing one bread over another and so on. I eat lots of protein and salad, pretty much a paleo diet!
