Any good breakfast drinks to wake up with? (low sugar)

I'm trying to get out of a habit of having too much sugar in the morning. My usual start mon-fri is:

-- house before leaving
Expresso (~0 cal)
Cranberry & Raspberry juice light - 250ml (12 cal)

-- at work
Orange juice - 330ml (155 cal)
Large banana (~120 cal)

Sometimes replacing the banana with a bowl of Honey nut cornflakes (~230 cal) as a treat.

Basically it's the Orange juice (~35g of sugar!) that I want to replace with something else that can wake me from a zombie state. The only thing I can think of is taking some green tea to work and seeing if it can get me focused and alive. I'd rather not start drinking slutbucks coffees again to get a buzz. Poss the sugar free Red Bull is another option but I'd rather not make it a habit.

It doesn't make any difference what time of day you eat or drink anything, including sugar.

Also, you don't have to worry about naturally occurring sugar, only added sugar, as long as the naturally occurring sugar (like in OJ), is fitting in with your daily caloric goal.

Try making a smoothie, here are some options:

    -Greek Yogurt
    -Casein Protein Powder
    -Chia Seeds
    -Fruits (specifically bananas)
    -Vegetables (specifically spinach)
    -Peanut Butter (check out PB2)

All of the things you mentioned are carbs/sugars/caffeine. Try protein instead.

How 'bout you make a smoothie with fresh fruit and add some spinach in there too (you won't taste it). Put a few nuts in, and you've got yourself a whole meal! :-)

    My smoothie favorites:
    1/2 Banana
1/2 Cup Frozen berries (especially strawberries and blueberries)
A handful or two of fresh spinach
    A handful of almonds
    Water or almond milk

I have a smoothie every morning for breakfast and it takes 5 minutes to make!

Green Tea every time - Green Tea with mint does me. Make sure it's Twinings, though, 'cos that's who pays my pension!
