So its pretty much the weekend. And in the past I've always just figured hey its the weekend I ate good all week so i can eat whatever now..and then wondered why I wasn't making any progress. My boyfriend and I usually go out to dinner and I loooove going out to dinner and I dont think I have the will power to not. And i feel like if we do..it's going to be impossible to try to stay with my calorie allowance. I know some restuarants have a section in the menu that is low cal...does anyone know which restaurants and if there even good?

Applebee's has an under 550 menu, and it is pretty good. Not huge portions, but they really taste good. Chili's has a guiltless grill section to which aren't as good as Applebee's but aren't bad.
Hope this helps!0 -
It sounds weird, but I usually make myself a huge bowl of vegetable soup at the beginning of the week, and some hummus on the side. When I'm hungry, i eat the soup and add some hummus for creaminess and extra flavour. Tonight I think we're going out for dinner, so I'm gonna have a bowl of the soup before we do, also we have a brunch on sunday, and same thing, I'm gonna drink a big thing of water and have a bowl of at least the broth with some hummus before everyone comes. There is always like, pastry, eggs, bacon, etc so it's soooo hard to not eat that stuff!!

A lot of places will let you substitute the rice/fries/beans with a bigger salad. My friend's favourite restaurant is Mexicali rosa's but when we go there they serve their entrees with beans, sour cream guacamole and rice. I just ask for no guac, no sour cream, no rice, no beans and a bigger salad instead.0

If I want something that's way too many calories, I'll ask for a to-go box as soon as I get my food and immediately put half my meal in it. That way there's no chance of me eating a zillion calories in one sitting, and I get to enjoy a yummy lunch another day!0

I know. I figured I would also just eat less than i usually would. Maybe instead of eating the whole meal..eat half and then eat the other half for lunch the next day. I just get uncomfortable when I dont know excatly how many calories something has. I'm not a big fan of applebees but I think Ruby tuesdays has a special section in there menu..and if not i guess i could just do the salad bar. Any other suggestions?0

I think anytime you can go with grilled chicken, brown rice, veggies, or a salad instead of french fries, is a good thing! Maybe you could order a child's portion or lunch portion. Also, if eating Italian say, ...I have a big salad then only eat the amount of pasta that would fit inside a 1 cup measuring cup. I even take one in my purse, so I stay true to my portion control. It works! You may look obsessive or silly, but who cares?! You are going to look fabulous if you keep it up!0

I've had this problem too my whole life. Hang in there. All you need is a plan. Wherever you're going, just look at the menu online before you go. Hopefully they will have nutritional info. If not, try the Eat This Not That website. http://eatthis.menshealth.com/home They have restaurants listed and can help you make a smarter choice. Also, workout so you'll have some extra calories to eat. You will be fine.0

Plan ahead, figure out where you're going then check out their website. Check out the menu and nutritional values so you can make a more educated dicision when going out.
Have fun.0 -
