I lost 12 pounds so far eating the foods my body con digest and staying away from foods that my body has trouble with but I didn't realize there was a name for the way I eat. I guess I eat like a Cave Woman, LOL. Not because I want to, believe me I want a cookie occasionally or ice cream but I am allergic to dairy, beef, wheat, alcohol, high fats, and salts and I get real sick if I do eat those things. I can't have fatty foods because it goes right through me. Before you judge the way that I eat please be aware that this is not a life style choice but a necessity otherwise my IBS flares, I get real ill and am in the bathroom for hours, I get ulcers and heart burn and this is the only way that keeps it under control.
I am just wondering if anyone else has my issue and what kind of successes they have had?

I'm low carb too... It helps with the cravings and spikes in blood sugar for me.

I started eating Paleo six months ago because I wanted to lose weight. Then I found out all the other amazing things that happened. I noticed that I definitely have a gluten intolerance, and when I eat Paleo my stomach feels better, my energy is off the charts, my skin clears up, I overall feel happier, and I lose weight fast and feel & look great! It gets hard to stick with, especially with 2 jobs, school, and going through a divorce, but I find it to be my vice. My happy place. It's not the right diet(cough, cough lifestyle) for everyone, but it's definitely worth a try! Good job with your progress and if it makes you feel good, WHY THE HELL NOT :) Good luck!

WOW, and I thought running my own business, raising 5 kids and homeschooling them and running a hobby farm was hard. Going through what you are going through makes my life seem like cake. I have noticed a big change, I don't know if it is a diet for sure but a way people eat, kinda like being a vegetarian, I am a Cave Woman. LOL

I'm doing low-carb too and I am seeing success. 10 lbs in 5 weeks, but I also started doing a 'bootcamp' class 3 times a week. The boyfriend and I started Insanity this week, too.

I like the low-carb lifestyle. I love veggies, could eat chicken every day of the week, etc. Cooking for the boyfriend is a little tougher, he's not a veggie fan. I have got him switched from regular pasta to whole grain pasta, from white rice to brown/wild rice, but I don't think he's too happy about it.

The hardest part is eating out. I work in a small town, there's nothing but fast food and mexican restaurants. Nothing low-carb about either one of those and the closest thing you get a veggie is the shredded iceberg lettuce on your taco. Discouraging, to say the least.

So far this sight is pretty good. It's allowed me to changed my carbs, fat, & protein values (%) by going into my goals. I've not found another site that would let me do this - BONUS. Now I'd like to find a Paleo/Primal/low carb support group in the community.

110+ lbs gone in a little over 9 months on low carb/Primal diet. Love it and will never go back to the standard American diet.

Suffice to say it's the way I like to eat.

I don't eat "low carb" though, I eat "adequate carb" which just so happens to be not much ;)

I also have some food intolerances (wheat, corn, soy, peanuts and shellfish) plus diabetes, so low carb/paleo/primal has been a very successful approach to weight loss for me. for the first time, i can actually see myself doing this for the long haul.

I've been eating Paleo for about 8 months now, but during August I've been following the Whole30 since I was eating a bit much cheese and drinking too much alcohol this summer...

great results (with pictures) so far:

For me, a low carbohydrate diet led to a massive water weight loss during the first month of my journey which, in turn, allowed me to start an exercise routine, without much pain; since, lots of good stuff happened.

My macronutrients are currently 30% carbohydrates, 25% protein, 45% fat. Previously, they were 15%, 30%, and 55%, respectively.
