I have looked at my library for the Sleeping Beauty Trilogy...They don't have them but they have 50 Shades....I love Anne Rice & would much rather read this series...I am off to find out where to get them now. Can't wait!!:devil:0

I read them many years ago. You either love Anne Rice or you don't. I wasn't that impressed.
You are hardcore.0 -
If you read and enjoyed (cringing at the thought) the 50 Shades of Crap books, please do yourself a favor and get your hands on the ARice Sleeping Beauty Trilogy.
You, your mind and not to mention your s e x life can thank me later.
Come to think of it...I need to get these books again myself!
Exactly...Anais Nin is well written, too, if you can find a good translation. It's a pretty sad state of affairs when something like 50 Shades is a bestseller.0 -
Love this trilogy.0

I saw these at Books A Mil the other day. I wondered if they were any good.0

I bought this the other day, excited to start it! I will never ever read 50 shades.0

Just finished the 50 shades series, I personally liked them. So I started the the sleeping beauty set,,,, at least there is kindness and love in 50 shades,... so far in the first book im not too impressed, the whole beat someone to a pulp to get off doesnt do it for me... probably wont get the remaining books.:frown:
This is the misunderstanding that 50 Shades breeds. Please continue reading. You will learn so much.0 -

At your mother-in-laws? She's hardcore! Give that woman a hug!0 -
I read the first 50 Shades book and thought it had potential. I read the second one and nearly died of boredom. I can't stomach the thought of spending money on the third. I'm halfway through the third book of the Sleeping Beauty trilogy and I can't put it down! It's so much better than 50 Shades could ever hope to be. I love that she doesn't portray any of the characters as having mental issues because of their unconventional desires... unlike Christian Grey, who obviously must have had a traumatic childhood and deep-seated commitment issues because he likes a little spice in the bedroom.0

I read that triology before 50 Shades. I liked the 50 shades better because there was a love story behind it, Sleeping Beauty was more hardcore than 50 Shades and it was hard to stomach at times but I think it's because I was so innocent to all of that stuff. Plus I really wasn't turned on by the guy on guy stuff, all the stuff that happend with Beauty was fine though.0

I just hurt my side stifling this laugh just now!0 -
I'd also recommend the Kushiel series, for people interested in S&M and fantasy.
Personally, I think the 50 Shades books are pretty bad, but entertaining. It doesn't make someone stupid or not into S&M if they enjoy them.0 -
These were very good books. But keep in mind, if you thought 50 shades was "hardcore" you are probably going to have a heart attack reading these.
True.
She speaketh the truth!

I did read the Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty Trilogy. I borrowed them from the library and even the covers were racy. I was careful to hide them while reading on the train, and often blushing at the content.
I have not read the 50 Shades as I'm into other things right now, but thanks form reminding me of the amusing way I plowed through those a few summers ago.0
