Clomid

Hey guys and girls,

Coming this September will be my 5th year of trying for a baby....I have not yet given up because with every year has come a new sign of hope and now I finally have the most promising one. My body has finally synchronised.
From the age of 13 my periods have always been very very irregular. I once went 3 years without a period...but since my start to m y weight loss last November, my periods have reappeared and I am extremely hopeful since I have been given Clomid by my doctor. Tomorrow will be the beginning to my 3rd try. My friend has just got pregnant on her 2nd try and my sister is currently on her 18th try.
Chances of it working are hit and miss but I will never give up hope until I have that baby in my arms. :)

I am interested to hear anyone elses stories of weight loss and pregnancy. Have any of you/your wives managed to get pregnant mainly due to weight loss or have you used clomid or any other fertility aiding drugs?

I would be very grateful to hear.

:)

    LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR Spirits!

I have to share my story and please feel free to add me as a friend. I am realatively new to MFP.

My Sory - I was around 250lbs when I left High School, always had been overweight, ALWAYS. I have PCOS as well. I never had regular periods either months in between.

I tried to get pregnant in 1995-1996 with my husband, took metformin and clomid and then basically my obgyn told me I would probably not be able to concieve. I never did anything to NOT get pregnant never practiced safe sex ect. My first husband passed away in 1996. Through life and getting re-married I told my second husband I could never have kids so he needed to accept that to marry me LOL I DID! I got as large as 389lbs!!!

In MAY2009 - 13 YEARS LATER after losing 127lbs. I was 262lbs when I found out I was pregnant. I was working out daily eating right and all that god stuff and I just did not feel good, didn;t want to eat was too tired to workout nad my boobs began hurting. I went to my regular doctor and said I just don;t feel good and cannot put a finger on it and explained my symptoms. Nurse well lets do a pregnancy test first. I said now you know I can;t have kids ( I had been going there forever) She said just routine. So I went pee she did the dip test and viola in seconds she turned around and said well Alice Your pregnant. I said Stop messing around now seriously what's the next test. She said I am serious.

Now I honestly have no clue accept God was in control and i have a beautiful son who was born via C-section in Jan 2010. He is the love of my life. I after pregancy weight was 282lb and I did nothing to loose it or aything until March of this year. I have not been trying to keep from getting pregnant since march as well and nthing. I am currently 228lbs, so still less than I was when my miracle came along. I hav just went to a fertility doctor who with my next cyce is starting me on clomid and metformin and says that he has a 80% success rate in achieving pregnancy without having to do invitro. I hope so, would like to have one more sibling fo my son.

So in my case I thought it was all weight related and healthy but I am less than then and noting again. I hold out hope for just one more.

I have PCOS and when my husband and I first were married we tried to get pregnant. It didn't work, and we adopted two beautiful boys out of foster care. This year however my medical insurance covers fertility and I talked to my OB and she sent me to a specialist. I started the process at 260 with getting my period maybe once or twice a year, and I have been seeing a nutritionist and now I am down to 238! We are just starting the first round of clomid this month, but my doctor has also prescribed a shot to make the eggs drop, and I will be getting a sonogram and blood work to see if it is working. I really wish you the best of luck! I am just going to try to keep dropping the weight, combined with the medication I think this is my best shot.

I am now seeing a specialist too, clomid, metformin, shot and ultrasounds and hsg test. All right there because I want one more miracle. Good luck to you too
