Just a chill coffee date. And nothing physical. Dating is a scary concept for me right now.0

scary?0 -
Did the coffee date.. and it was awkward.. and loud.
Doing drinks as first date tomorrow at a local irish pub... should be pretty chill considering we are going after an evening walk with a group of friends.0 -
first date with my hubby = dinner at a nice italian restaurant, then he took me to "music under the stars" at the park and had packed a picnic basket with dessert and wine, plus a blankie to sit on the ground while we listened to the orchestra. 'twas amazing.0

I like coffee/tea. My boyfriend and I met up for tea/hot chocolate at a hip little local cafe for our first date.0

scary?
I went through a painful breakup not too long ago. I hate being single, but I am scared of the possibility of getting hurt again. So the best sounding date to me right now is a very casual one.0 -

I like this. Also wine tastings, art gallery openings, the farmers market, festivals, and museums are all good.
People watching potential for when the conversation lulls.0 -
Honestly? Just going to Starbucks and talking for a few hours is lovely.
Although, if I want to get all extravagant... let me get all dressed up (aka, wear heels instead of flats because most of my outfits are already pretty 'dressed up'), let's go to some fancy restaurant and then go see a play or musical. I think when I eventually move to New York, this will be my date requirement. Good seats. With stage-dooring after the show. And then to some 24-hour coffee place to talk for a few hours and discuss the play/musical we just saw in extensive detail.
If I never find love, I doubt any of you will be surprised. What can I say? I'm high-maintenance.0 -
Depends...
1) If you haven't spent a lot of time communicating up to then, keep it simple. Starbucks for coffee or a Grill for drinks. You don't know if you like each other at all.
2) If you've already established emotionally chemistry, then it's gonna be some fun activity that involves your body... bowling, billiards, batting cages, etc. And just the right amount of alcohol so that everyone has fun, but no one loses their senses. After a picnic basket full of goodies and a blanket under the stars or overlooking a cool scene somewhere.0 -
That's a tough one. I'd have to say April 25th. Because it's not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.0

:flowerforyou: Hahha I was surprised no one else had said it yet!0 -
Going to the zoo, or the beach/lake, or anywhere fun! Anything besides going out to dinner.0

I don't care where we go...I don't care what we do.
All I care about is that she is there...and that she is happy.
The rest of the circumstances...are just details .0 -
my ideal first date would be getting a piercing together.
But going to a movie is classic. doesn't put too much pressure to make conversation.0 -
Ideal first date? Honestly, I would rather NOT go to dinner... I won't object to it, but I'd rather spend time with my date, talking, laughing, seeing if we click... let's do something fun together that will allow us to talk, laugh, and maybe even goof off. It doesn't have to be expensive. It can be free for all I care. Putt putt golf, a nature walk, catching a game of some kind either as a spectator or a player... a museum... karaoke (he can laugh at me making a fool of myself)
Definitely no bars or clubs.
I don't turn down dinner dates if I like the guy, but if it was up to me, we'd do something different...0 -
An ideal date for me would be something inexspensive-ish and outdoorsy..preferably. Movies and dinner are nice, but I'll admit I often become restless and don't like to sit still for long periods of time (I'm like a kid with sugar), so that's why I'd lean towards outdoor activities. Hell, we could grab a coffee and walk around the park getting to know one another and I'd be okay----Oooooh or a hike in the woods...or stargazing someplace quiet.0

Hiking or canoeing, then a seafood dinner overlooking the water/sunset.
Edit: Cave exploring? THAT SOUNDS AMAZING!0 -
drinks, a movie at home, and sex . . .pretty chill0

I've always waited to have some emotional and/or intellectual connection with someone before going on a proper date. This way, the date is nearly always perfect, because we already really like one another. The setting, therefore, becomes largely meaningless; although, it's typically something that we mutually enjoy.
Perfect setting? Outside, talking, doing random things, somewhere quaint.0 -
Walk in the Rodin Museum then dinner at a small restaurant I know in Paris and a walk to the Pont Neuf, nightcap at the Kong...0
-
Something that you are able to assess the persons character and behavior, mini golf, a sporting event, a hike or walk, an amusement park, canoeing. One of the best first dates I went on was canoeing. It gave me the opportunity to talk with him, be active, and to see if we were able to work together, paddling. Afterwards we ate picnic lunch. The guy wasn't for me, but it was a great date idea!0

An activity is usually mine like playing pool or going to see something new like I visited caves before that was exciting . Movie is not a good first date for me as I only can stay awake during action/movie films. I have fallen asleep in cinemas before (luckily only with friends)...it's embarrassing :P!
haha falling asleep on a first date would be horrible!
I know right, that's why I avoid it like the plague :P0 -
