What was your first and/or worst job?

My first job was at Dollywood.
A theme park here.
I would say it was my worst as well. Fun at times, but overall, not pleasant0 -
Call centre. I lasted two days and cried to my mum on the morning of the third day and said I didn't have to go. I was only sixteen, bless...0

First job: Working at Back Yard Burger. Was thrilled to have a job, period.
Best job (I know what wasn't in the question): Corporate trainer for an insurance company.
Worst job: Current. Working in Residence Life at a college running two buildings. I love working with my residents, but being on call in the middle of the night, not having work/life balance because I work and live in the same place, etc. are really wearing on me.0 -
I was 15 and a camp counselor to 30 seven year old girls. 8am-5:30pm. I'm still recovering haha.0

My first "real" job (as in when I turned 16 and could legally work, before that I did babysitting) was working retail.
My worst job was that retail one when I worked in the lugagge department (boooooooooooring), but then I moved over to music dept. and loved it.0 -
First job: A farmers' market/fruit stand. During the spring/summer/fall we sold fruits, veggies, and plants and in the winters we sold Christmas trees. I would have stayed there forever if they paid better. But with just minimum wage and no raises, I had to leave. Great first job, even though the owner was very picky.
Worst job: Cook at a dining hall at my college. Pay was not that great and the hours sucked since I lived off campus. I had nothing in common with my coworkers at all. Only towards the end of my time there did I start making a few friends and by that time I had already put in my two weeks. It wasn't the worst job ever but definitely the worst I've had.0 -
First job- waiting tables at the little family owned diner on main street. it was awesome. I absolutely loved it.
Worst job- I had a job once, I only worked there for 50 hours and I didnt get paid.......Oh wait....... that was community service.....FML0 -
First job: Amy Joy Donuts in Chicago. I couldn't eat donuts for years after working there.
Worst job: Prep cook for an "all you can eat" restaurant. I was covered in grease every night when I got off work.0 -
First and worst job: towel boy in a brothel0

My first job was babysitting, first real job was monitoring the playroom and working gifts hop at the San Francisco Toy Museum when I was 12.
Worst job, after 1.5 years of being unable to walk after a snowboarding accident and the recuperation, I was beyond broke and took a job nannying for the most horrendous family. 4 terrors, ALL (unnecessarily IMO) on meds. 3 and 4 year olds slept in CRIBS with nets on top (complete with yarn knotted zippers) to lock them in on urine deteriorated mattresses. The 3 year old was not potty trained and still drank from a bottle/had a paci. The 8 year old boy had rage issues. The kids spit, yelled at and disrespected thier parents when I was leaving and all was met with oblivious "oh sweetie, don't do that" type coddling. The 10 year old girl was THE BIGGEST brat I have EVER encountered. These people lived in a beautiful, huge house and they let thier monsters draw all over the walls, furniture, you name it. There was gum ground into the wood floors like you find on a city street! The father worked for the Pentagon and mom was a kindergarten teacher for Pete's sake! Ugh.There is so much more to it but I'm getting all anxious even recalling that disaster. I stayed for 5 months. Was paid $20 p/hr and as hard as it was, I felt like those kids needed me. I got them potty trained, off bottles, transitioned into real beds, respecting and listening to me for the most part and in a far better spot before I left at least. It traumatized me so bad that I have vowed to never watch that many kids again. The End.0 -
First: Sacker/cart girl at a grocery store.
Worst: Retail for a cell phone company0 -
First Job - Drove the golfball picker at a driving range.
Worst Job - Worked temp job in Charge Backs for Fleet Bank. So much mindnumbing data entry.0 -
My grandfather owned a Tortilleria and also made tamales and barbacoa. I would help prepare the cow heads/tongues to be boiled and wash out all the pans after. I was 14.
Not fun.0 -
1st job:
Burger King when I was 14. I worked the burger line.
Worst job:
I worked for a fence company about five years ago (when the doc com bubble burst). The actual WORK was not so bad but the people I worked with were the absolute scum of society.
Most were on probation and, because they found out I was a veteran, they wanted to see how "badass" I really was.
I really hated going to work there.0 -
1st job not counting cutting neighbors grass as a kid was @ 15 sacker at a grocery store
Worst job, part time job I got to go along with the grocery job once I was 16. Fast food, Sonic drive thru.
Fcking sucked, I thought it would be a cake job but they sent me to some slammed sonic's in the Woodlands(TX) that never seemed to get slow, I only lasted a week and a half, 6 bucks an hour wasn't worth that lol. Quit, and never even went in to pick up my check, had worked about 60 hours to, was embaressed because I had quit.
Told my parents I had gotten fired so they wouldn't make me go back lol0 -
I worked at Dairy Queen for a month last summer before I quit. It was the worst job in the world, I'm sure, but it was pretty awful. I don't/have never had fast food, so customers would ask me what was in a particular food item and I'd respond with "meat and bread? I'm not sure..." hahhaa. And making Blizzards was f*ucking terrifying. I never mastered it. I did master how to get ice cream all of the walls, my apron, face, oh and my manager, while attempting to make them!0

I would like to change my worst job to customer service rep at a Blockbuster Video. I did this job twice and was amazed how seriously people took their videos lol.0 -
First job: working at a convenience store while in high school
Worst job: police dispatcher for college police department while in college. It wasn't that bad but it was mostly boring all the time (I guess that's a good thing :-).0 -
First: waiting tables at a diner in a mall when I was 14
Worst: 3-way tie! 1) Unloading trucks and stocking shelves overnight at Target when I was 18, 2) Door-to-door fundraising in Michigan in the winter (I slipped on the ice on a really steep driveway and quit mid-shift lol) and 3) "Manager" at a Club Libby Lu (sparkly pink little girls clothes + makeover parties), which I lasted a whole 4 days at, haha0 -
First job when I was 15 - Stocking shelves at 7-11.
Worst job was a part-time job to supplement my income when I was in my 20's - sandblasting heat treating furnaces to be repainted and sold. It sucked, I only lasted about 3 weeks.0
