Cacique's is my place of choice. But seroiusly, don't be sure she's too big for Victoria's Secret. I'm fairly overweight and at my heaviest I could still get bra and undies there. Others to consider- Hanes outlet/store.

Honestly...Walmart has some cute sets! Some racy...some not! Obviously much better prices.

Frederick's of Hollywood is like Victoria's Secret, but has a much better range of sizes. Try there!

If she's plus-sized, a quick google search for "Plus-size lingerie" will help.

I've found matching sets at Kohls, Target, JCP... anywhere. They might not be SOLD as a matching set, but there's usually a panty or thong that matches most bras.

Don't know where you're located, but if there's any outlet stores near you, check those. I know in the Poconos, there's Maidenform and Playtex outlets in the Crossings, so if you're in NY or NJ, that's not too far (judging by all the NY and NJ license plates in the parking lot).

We are sure, the bra's fit but the bottoms didn't this weekend.

Really? our Walmart was dire. We did get some excellent workout clothes there though, especially good for viewing :)

You should try Addition Elle. Or Elle Addition, one of the two. I bought plus sized matching lingerie sets for a cousin for her bachelorette party from there. She said they fit her really well and they were pretty hot too without being ummmm, for lack of a better word, trashy. It came to something like $35-40. I think they carry lingerie for sizes 14 and up.

I just purchased some in a store called "Soma". It was lingerie geared more to the normal woman sized, [as opposed to the emaciated sizing of VS} but pretty and sexy. It is slightly less expensive than Victoria Secret, but every bit as nice. There is an online catalog that is available.

Take her into Nordstrom and have her fitted by one of their lingerie specialists. This will work out much better for the both of you. Also, Nordstrom will let men in the changing rooms with their SO.

Nordstrom are THE best at fitting and suggesting styles for a woman's shape. I do miss Marks & Spencers!

I'm in a weird situation where the smallest size at Lane Bryant/Cacique is too big for me but a large or XL at most places is too small...

    WTH!

    is just stunned,
    stunned
    stunned
that the OP can buy his wife a bra.
    wow.

i can not even pick out my very own bra without trying it on, unless it is a brand i have worn before.

I HAVE TO try on all bras. The "size" in USA is NOT the same, from store to store. A gal can be a 36C in one shoppe,
and a 34D in the next shoppe, and a 36D in the next store.
    Same gal,
    same day,
different sizes from store to store, depending on the brand she is trying on.

there is even some variation in panty sizes from store to store, too.

KEEP THE BRA RECEIPTS!! You can not return panties, so, maybe, just buy ONE (1) set to see IF you actually CAN pick her size out correctly, it is NOT as simple as you might be thinking, to get a BRA to correctly fit a woman.

    but still
what a sweet move! You *might* be safer buying her some lingerie, than a bra, but, a your idea is very cute gesture. but lingerie is WAYyyy easier to give a woman, than trying to pick out a bra that actually fits her.
  • So since my wife has lost a bunch of weight I was going to get her some nicer fancier new underwear for vacation (OK, So its for me too ). But where oh where can you get matching sets anymore?

In the UK I'd have gone to M&S but they'd take to long to deliver to the colonies/

She is still a little bigger than Vickie Secrets, right on the cusp of mainstream and plus, so ladies, where do you recommend shopping online for matching sets of bras and panties?

P.S She is shrinking like a crazy person so I know these don't have to be the longest lasting

Fredericks of Hollywood has some nice stuff. The delivery is very good too.

You might be sureprised with Victoria Secrets - I wear a 12 and I shop there.

They dont SHOW them at matching - you have to pick a bra and pick panties separetly that are the same material and pattern. Maybe this is teh case with the other places too - they may be so sold seperately but do indeed offer both pieces.

Im thinking he is not shopping for everyday wear... more for a few nights and not to have on for very long. He mentioned nice stuff for their vacation.... sexy --> not practical! :) Go OP, Go OP!!

Frederick's of Hollywood, definitely! They have lots of lingerie sets and they use the same colors in things so you can mix and match. I wore a lot of Frederick's stuff before I was small enough to fit in Victoria's Secret regularly. They're about half the cost of VS, too!

^^ This. Only I'm still not small enough for Victoria's Secret yet.
  • Unfortunately I haven't seen matching 'sets' but you can find matching 'separates' (like a bra and panties that can be bought separately or can be bought to match each other) in about any store that sells undergarments. A real pain as then stores can charge more :grumble:

Though that does allow for you to get a better fit for top and bottom...hmmm...

Hate to tell you this, but I'm pretty darn good at the size thing, at least in store :) One of the reasons for this shopping trip apart from size is that she has worn out all the other stuff I have got her in the past as gifts. Guys that can't get it right, just aren't trying hard enough or aren't well enough rewarded :flowerforyou:

Round here it seems like you get all patterned bra's and all plain bottoms, unless you just want beige, black or white, then you can get similar, just not matching. I give her 60 days till she is VS sized and then there are far more options, but the vacation is in two weeks

I know you want to surprise her, but she really needs to go in and be fitted. If she is losing weight everywhere, her bra size - band width and cup have probably changed too. Take her into Nordstrom, Macy's, Dillards or Penney's and have her fitted by one of their lingerie specialists. This will work out much better for the both of you. Also, Nordstrom will let men in the changing rooms with their SO.

    yeah, i agree with this.
BRAS are hard to fit, even most women shopping for themselves, have to try it ON prior to purchase, UNLESS it is a brand and style that they buy all the time. Wearing a bra that does NOT fit is a crappy feeling, and hard to stop noticing it, every time you move, that your bra does NOT fit....

Or, if you DO want to surprise her,
Consider just buying her some lingerie. What woman does NOT love new lingerie? (sneak a peek into her bra size, and panty size, write it down, to bring to shoppe to get her correct size of lingerie)

I can't get it right, on my own body, without trying it on first. UNLESS it is the same style and brand i always wear.
I know other women, who also have to try it on first, UNLESS it is the same style/brand they always buy.
