I don't know if I am doing something wrong...

Hello!
I have been working out very often (4-5 times a week, sometimes more) and haven't done over my calorie limit (my BRM) since june 26th. However, I only lost 6 pounds since then (8, but I gained 2 back I don't know why). Am I doing something wrong? Should I limit my calorie intake even more? I know that it's normal to take time when we work out, but when I see that people lose 2 pounds a week sometimes here, it discourages me that I don't lose more.
BTW, I have about 80-100 pounds to lose.
What do you think?
Thank you!

Don't forget to take into account muscle gain. Don't give up!!! Sometimes it is better to judge by how the clothes are fitting, than what the scale is saying.0

Make sure you are eating back at least half of your exercise calories.
Drink plenty of water.
No to many carbs and not to much fat or sugar.0 -
Try taking measurements instead of watching the scale. You might also try lowering your calories by 100 and see if that helps. Keep it up, you are making progress.0

You need to open up your diary to get a real opinion on what it is that is staggering your weightloss. Feel free to message me once you do and I'd be happy to try to give a helpful opinion0

Actually, I first set myself a 10 pounds goal, to try to take it little by little. But I really have more like 80-100 pounds to lose...

I have a similar amount to lose, and have been losing/gaining the same 3 pounds for weeks (depending on where I am in my cycle).
I am also discouraged, but I do have to share one thing with you. My "rock bottom" was about 6 weeks ago when I went to a baseball game and my hips ached the whole time because I was too wide for the seat. Well, last weekend, I went to another baseball game and guess what? I was no longer too wide for the seats. No aching hips! So all the eating right and exercise (I also do 60 min of cardio 5-6 days a week) is paying off in ways that just aren't really showing on the scale.0 -
Like mindrella said, muscle gain could be the cause, which will be good for you in your long-term goals.
Also, if you can, do exercise that has a very accurate way to count calories burned -- a machine that measures the calories is the best in my opinion, though I am not a fitness expert. Also, be careful to protect your joints by doing exercises that aren't too high impact.
Another thing to think about is water. As an experiment you should weigh yourself before a sweaty workout and then again afterwards. When you weigh yourself afterwards, make sure you dry yourself off to remove the water from your skin. You might be surprised that you could see a pound difference in weight just from the sweat. The point is that you may have weighed yourself when you were slightly dehydrated and then when you became hydrated properly, it appeared you gained 2 lbs.
At the end of the day if you burn more calories than you take in, over time, you will lose weight.0 -
If you're calorie goal is your BMR and you exercise, eat some of those exercise calories back. Just my 2 cents, but what have you got to lose? Good luck in getting beyond this. :flowerforyou:0
