Does anyone here smoke that is trying to quit? I am doing good with eating healthy and exercise... but i cannot seem to just give up smoking that easy. It was always a social thing for me and i did stop before i met my husband. Well, he smokes too so that doesn't help. I am down to like 2 cigarettes a day and i just want to stop. I think i mostly smoke due to stress. When i am not around my husband i don't smoke. Anyone have any suggestions?

Cinnamon toothpicks, carrots, sunflower seed (unfortunatly kinda high in calories ) if your eating a ton, Gum, lots of liquid. I'm on day 5 today after 15+ years. My hardest times are the car and first thing in the AM before my workout its been preventing me from wanting to get out of bed because I want to have my coffee and a smoke so bad, but I beat that finally this morning.
2 is still good, its works different for everyone, everyone is an expert and will say you have to go cold turkey or have to use this or that, but just like dieting everyone works differently. Just be patient with yourself and do what works for you. Try the 2 for a week or so, then cut down to 1, then cut down again.
I went from a pack plus a day to about 2 months @ half pack a day but no smoking after I got home. That really helped when I finally gave it up. Im also patient with myself if I lose it and smoke thats okay I'll start again, I dont consider anything under 2 smokes that I lost my progress, just a set back and move on. Its a lifestyle change too so dont be hard on yourself.
There are also vapor smokes, for as little as you smoke these may be a good alternative, and you can smoke them anywhere.

I say good luck to you, I hope you are able to stick with it. I was always around 10 a day and one day, can't even tell you which one, I was taking chantix and was able to just stop. I don't have a quit date, I try not to even figure it out. Sometimes in October will be 1 year for me.
I jsut went longer and longer in between. YES, I cheated with chantix. BUT, I now feel like I was never meant to be a smoker, I am so glad I am no longer a smoker and dn't ever want to again.
One day at a time. One hour at a time even, just making the choice not to do it. Just think, can I go another hour without, then do so if you can at all. ASk yourself every time how you feel before hand, during and after then focus on that when you think you need your next one.
I know, I cheated with the chantix, but I still make the choice to stay off them every day.
edited, try suckers, or low calorie candy you can suck on. Lots of water too seemed to help. I liked to chew gum. I had to change my path to work to avoid the cues for a while. Really try to switch up your schedule and be busy during the times you would go outside for one too.0 -

You can do it! I promise you can! I quite smoking cold turkey almost a year-and-a-half ago. I never, ever thought I'd be a non-smoker. I highly recommend the book "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr. Changed my life! I love not being burdened by the thought of when I can smoke my next cigarette.
