Shifting fat above the knee

I'm 24 and relatively healthy, up until about 2 years I was the perfect hour-glass shape and a UK size 10 all over. After a couple of neck injuries from car accidents I let myself slide, couldn't do my very active job any more and spend most of my time at the desk.

In March this year I decided enough was enough. I still look fab in a size 10 top, although my arms could do with a little toning but I can't physically get jeans over my knees unless they are a size 14/16. My thighs have ballooned. I have a varicose vein in one leg which causes me pain sometimes. They look disproportionate the rest of my body. I have put on about 16 pounds and I swear 14 of that is on my thighs!!

I have been eating my 1200 cals a day limit, cut out salt, cut sugar right down, hardly drink tea or coffee any more and I make sure I have at least 8 glasses of water a day. I have an eliptical trainer in front of my tv, I use that often. I do squats and light weight lifting on my arms (nothing too heavy with me neck). I body brush everyday to get some circulation into the skin.

They look and feel like they are been weighed down at the front, the backs aren't to bad and they wobble like they are full of fluid. Starting to get that fold over my knees and inner thigh :( Is there anything special I can do to really target this area on top of the rest of the cardio I am doing??

I am off to the Maldives in 6 weeks and on a serious health push to look half decent in a bikini. My husband works abroad and I will be seeing him for the first time in 4 months when we fly out, for him to notice a difference would be a huge boost but at the moment I just look like I'm walking on over stuffed sausages. lol.

Help please :)

    *Bump* Anyone?
  • I had the same issue and I am so sorry to say it but the only thing that helped was a bit of exercise and a lot of healthy eating, there's no spot-fat removal tip that has ever worked for me! I did find squats helped tone the area though.

I upped my calories too and that helped I found I was more likely to binge or just eat junk when I was on 1200 calories and as soon as I upped them I've actually lost centimetres.
This is just me though, if anyone has had a different experience, would love to hear it!

:( yeah your probably right. I have increased the number of weighted squats I'm doing, so fingers crossed it will soon show results. It's just so disproportionate compared to the rest of me!
