What to do when away?

Hello good people of MFP,
I was just wondering what others do as far as logging goes while they are away. I know many people could use the mobile app, but as a recent college grad without a very good paying job, I had to cut out the data plan. What does everyone else do?
Also, how to control the urge to just go crazy? Generally when I have weekends away I eat like crap and love to drink some beer (Make that ALOT of beer)

I use mobile...but for you, how about good old paper and pen THat is, if you are already relatively familiar with the cal count....If you are not away for like months, forget about logging, just be sensible and log back in when you are home!0

Before I had a smartphone and before I found MFP I tracked my intake in a paper notebook. I used the Calorie King database to manually add up my totals so I didn't have a nice running tally like I do with MFP to see if I have to take an extra long walk in the afternoon to burn off the latte I had at breakfast so I have enough calories for dinner. Writing down every bite makes you mindful of what you're eating even if you don't have the instant feedback of updating your MFP food diary. Then enter in your meals when you get a chance and you'll see how your food and drink choices affect your progress.0
