If you have the time and $ the Grand Canyon tours are great. Some are by bus, fly/ride, fly/drive, or just fly...copter or planes are available. Some include a stop at the glass overlook, some have a lunch stop. I would suggest that you investigate shows, tours, or side trips BEFORE you get there and get tickets. Before you buy the tickets check with the venue to make sure the show will go on. Had to get tickets refunded because of a cancelation. There are a lot of things to do in the area, not just playing on the Strip...but that is 2-3 days in itself! Google Vegas tourism and a lot of sites pop up. Take comfortable walking shoes and sunscreen. Enjoy!

My wife and I were there last week. This site was helpful: http://www.visitlasvegas.com/shows-and-events/

Look through the events for the dates you will be there and book your shows early. We saw David Copperfield, Carrot Top, and a few others. David Copperfield and Carrot Top and Criss Angel are awesome shows! Stay at a casino on the strip if you can, it will same a lot of headache getting around.

    Have fun!

We're going in November and we are going to see a show at the Crazy Horse. It's a burlesque show. And also going to see Zumanity which is supposed to be an erotic cirque du soleil show.

    I'm going with my parents.

It's not going to be awkward at all....

bring a good pair of shoes you will be doing a lot of walking. its fun to walk up and down the strip and go into all the casinos you dont have to gamble to have fun in Vegas check out freemount and go zip line that was great. you can take the bus to freemount and its not bad the bus just runs up and down the strip.

DO NOT use the monorail thing there, it is a complete waste of money!!! And you walk twice as much. Use the bus instead. Also, they always give stuff away from free there. Stay away from the 3hr tour of the new resort to get free tickets.....NOT worth it and they are pushing the tour in every single resort. And all the ppl handing out the nude pic cards for hookers on the street corners lol. Buffet at Luxor and Excalibur is reallllly good. And also go to the pawn star show place at the end of the strip, pretty cool. They're not open 24hrs like they say they close at 9pm fyi.

For sights - Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam - both totally awesome. For the Hoover dam go early am because you will spend hours in traffic if you go later in the day. If you do the helicopter rides to Grand canyon make sure you get in the front for the outward journey, more photo opportunities as they take a different route back with a fuel stop and if you are last in front you wont get many great pics.

Peep show was a great show, as was Tony and Tina's wedding. I've seen two of the cirque shows and both were incredible.

Titanic exhibition at Luxor was worth a visit.

Even if you don't like casinos spend time people watching - awesome. If you spend time on tables or the slots then you should get comp drinks but tip the waitresses. They will tend to come back around to you.

Try the buffets, they are all totally awesome and nothing like UK ones (I think you are UK?). The choice is amazing, the cost is sensible. Planet Hollywood was cheapest and a bit tired but food areas were very clean and the choice was still excellent. Also enjoyed Bellagio and Mirage.

It's a cheap trick but they charge different prices for breakfast, lunch and dinner and some do not empty the dinning room when they change the service from one meal to another. That way you can go in, have a few drinks and have dinner for the lunch price. Like I say, cheap trick but if you are on a budget it helps.

Fontana bar in Bellagio has free live bands a few nights a week.

Cheesecake factory in Ceasars palace do some credible, reasonably priced grub and not just cheesecakes.

Joe's steak and seafood restaurant in Ceasars is fantastic. Friendly, great food and wine but reasonably pricey. crab claws to die for.

And lastly - just so jealous you are going - have a great trip and love every second. Cannot wait to go back but it won't be for a couple of years

we went March of 2011 and at that time I have never heard of Pawn Stars and every time we went by on the bus I thought they were saying Porn Stars for this exit.
