I was 149, trained for a Tough Mudder (for ladies who want an awesome challenge and results, Insanity is the absolute best ting I have ever done!), I got down to 130 (a bit light for me), and am now at 133. I have not been working out nearly as hard, but still exercising - I thought I was good to go until I got my body fat. Its 33%, up from about 21% in April right before the mudder!!! At 5'5 and 133, I did not know that was even possible? Any suggestions (I have had to stop super hard training b/c trying to have a baby...but 33%)

That sounds wrong. How did you determine your body fat?
  • My trainer uses one of the step on machines that caculate water, fat, muscle, etc....seems pretty thorough...

That is one of the most inaccurate ways possible.

Electrical current machines suggest you do not exercise or eat within 2 hours or so of using them, and also suggest you drain your urinary bladder immediately prior to using.
  • Dana,

Thanks for the heads up - that may explain a lot!

I honestly just googled "body fat % calculators" and took the average of every number I came up with with all their different formulae. They seemed pretty accurate and left me with about a 21% BFP and I am so okay with that! I don't think it's possible to have a body fat percentage of over 25% if you weigh 133 at your height. You'd have to be like, 4'3 for that to work. o.o I think? Don't panic yet, I'm sure you're just fine!
