Hi
I have the same problem, you could try some low fat yogurt with a banana or strawberries.0 -
I did i eat fruit all the time but it just dosent do the trick its like ive been puting my body trew a really bad routine and to get out of those habbits its not a easy task0

1/2 cup of ice cream ...or .something 100 calories ish. Nothing crazy...but it will stop u from splurging ! And satisfy your cravings. I recomend weight watcher latte bars 90 cals of awesomeness!0

I eat an Alpen Light choc and fudge bar. They taste really sweet, and it feels like a treat, but they're only 70 calories.
Another option is low fat yoghurt - I like the cherry ones.
Finally, a cup of Options hot chocolate with mint or orange is only 40 calories, and tastes really chocolatty :-)0 -
i chew sugar free gum!0

I love chocolatecoveredkatie.com!! All of her stuff is pretty healthy, so you can indulge a little without the guilt!0

I like popsicles, if you get the littler ones they're only about 25 calories, and they take a bit of time to eat because they're frozen so I have to slow down and really taste them. It's also summer right now, so they help me keep cool.0

Is there any particular time of the day you get these cravings? I tend to get mine about 30 minutes after my evening meal.
What works for me is having a cup of hot tea with skimmed milk and a teaspoon of sugar.
Doing something which makes makes me get up and move around is good too- so I'm not just sitting there thinking about how much I want sugar. Cleaning the house works great for me.0 -
According to the 1950s ', smoking could be the answer to your sugar cravings. But they used to eat radium chocolate, cocaine was touted as a cure for the common cold and lobotomies were prescribed as a cure for homosexuality so I don't know if I'd trust their judgement.
Seriously though. Try taking some fish oil or something similar. When your body craves fats/carbs/ sugars etc what it really wants is EFA's and nutrients.0 -
I was EXACTLY the same to begin with. My solution was to still eat something sweet --- but just something tiny enough to satisfy the craving and why should I not be allowed some chocolate at the end of my day!
I began by buying a box of the individually wrapped 'treat-size' chocolates and I would get my partner to hide them from me and he would give me only 1 each night (something to look forward to at the end of the day and after all, it was only 60 calories so I would save calories for this).
Eventually I changed my chocolate over to 70% minimum cocoa dark chocolate for health benefits and had that instead (or a mix or normal and dark).
These days I rarely have anything sweet before bed - you kind of wean yourself off of them and I had a lot of support from my partner to get to the spot where I am at.
I find when I just reject something completely out of my diet that my body just craves it more and I end up getting more depressed then ever and everything just seems stupid and so much harder... so that's why I began with just a little treat at the end of the day every day to begin with and as my body got used to this I only had one when my body was actually craving it and now I have none (I have a chocolate flavoured protein shake after a weights session approx 4-6 days per week, so maybe it's just been replaced with that?).0 -
Lindt 85% chocolate. Work every time for me!0

Its a hard thing to do when you're addicted to sugar. I couldn't have just 1 cookie, i had to eat the whole box. Just try to get through the first week, and little by little the cravings will go away. Maybe not completely, i still have to have something sweet once in a while, but not like i used to. Its the same as trying to quit smoking or drinking. But once you get away from it you will feel a whole lot better.0

Healthy Choice fudge bars are great after dinner!0

Okay, this might sound silly but it genuinely works...!
After eating your dinner, go and clean your teeth.
For some reason, the mintiness in your toothpaste makes the craving disappear. Can't tell you why it does that though!!

I have either a mini milk ice lolly, a couple of squares of dark chocolate, some reduced fat vanilla ice-cream with a little chocolate/toffee sauce, or some apple with peanut butter!! I could NEVER give up my sweet treats I would be so miserable my boyfriend would probably leave me!!! lol0

4 pieces of dark chocolate do it for me... Tesco own brand, nice and cheap. Only 80 calories!0

Dark chocolate.
For me, eating 1-2 pieces of dark chocolate does the trick. Instead of biting it, I let it melt on my tongue when I'm craving something sweet.0 -
Dark chocolate too. 2 1/2 squares of the Hershey's Special Dark Bar (19 grams) is 90 calories. Let it melt slowly. It does the trick. I try to only have it a few times a week.
Oh also Skinny Cow products. love the fudge bars!!0 -
Some foods may be triggering a sugar craving. It's hard to tell without seeing your diary. You can get some great feedback if you have an open diary.
Drinking SF sodas can trigger sugar cravings.
Some substitutes-SF Jello with light whipped cream. Extra Dessert Gum. Sweet Potatoes. Baby Carrots. Dark Chocolate. Fiber One 90 calorie brownie and bars. Cocoa almonds. Lightly salted rice cake with Natural Peanut Butter and Splenda. Frozen Grapes. Sherbert or Frozen Yogurt. SF FF Pudding.
Hang in there!0 -
i chew sugar free gum!
I do this too. I also keep lots of 100 cal snacks around me at work (which is when i get the sugar cravings)0 -
In the UK Weight Watchers do these chocolate/vanilla mousse cups and I use them for just these moments. Something about the velvety texture of the mousse is very satisfying. And only 103 calories.0

Skinny Cow - Dreamy Clusters...they come in a 120 calorie pack and are AMAZING! does not taste like "diet" food at all.0
-
Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich--not every day but a day or two a week otherwise just say no...its tough but eventually those constant cravings will lessen0
-

I would love to share my diaries but to be honest i dont know how yet :0 i will go buy sone low cal popsicle and some single packed dark chocalate squares ! Awsome thanks so much guys !!0
-
Oh what about fish oil i have sone actully... Does it really helps with the cravings !? Ive never really taken them just heard there were some good oils0
-
I sliced up a banana and put it in the freezer. I then get 1 or 2 frozen slices. It's awesome and less sugar and calories than a small piece of chocalote my downfall. If I have a huge craving I add a graham cracker.0
-
Fiber One chocolate brownies are SO good and only 90 calories. It always helps with sugar cravings and/or chocolate cravings.0
