Do any of you all belong to Title Boxing Club? If so, what do you think? Is it fun, challenging, and a good work out? Do they have options for various levels of athleticism, strength, etc.? Worth the money? Thanks for any input!

I belong to a boxing club. Nothing fancy as that, not really a place you go to get into shape but a place you go to learn how to box and get trained to fight and then jump in a ring a try out what you learn.
You need to figure out what you want to get out of the training and ask the trainers what you can expect to get. If you are looking for a fitness then sure go for it. If you want to learn and train to fight, I dont know.
From watching the videos I can tell you our trainers would have your *kitten* if you were hitting the mitts and looking as sloppy as that girl is. The same goes for the video of the women working the heavy bags, that guy should be pointing out the sloppy punching mechanics and the lady in the back ground looks like the bag is working her.
I did a search for it and found this review. > http://www.fightwire.net/newsViewer.php?id=313
"Bottom line, if you've ever wanted to workout like a fighter, but not go home with the bumps and bruises of a full-time fighter, then this is the workout for you."
So bottom line is if you want to train like a fighter but never test yourself and take your licks then yes. If you want to learn how to do the real deal I dont know.0 -
Thanks for the reply, Nick. I agree it seems like TBC promotes themselves as fitness first, boxing skills second, or third. I'm completely new to the sport. Never boxed. Wrestled in high school, but that was a long time ago. I am mostly looking for fun, creative ways to stay in shape. I can't just go out and run...too much time alone with my own brain. And, I enjoy competition of about any kind.0

If fitness is your first concern and fighting is second then by all means go for it. Training to fight is a tough workout but it is a very fun activity. Of all the things I do, I love going to our club the most. I love the amount of pushup, situps, leg lifts, rocking chairs, crunches jumping jacks we do, then 30+ minutes of bag work followed by mitts and then sparring. The only thing I hate about it is when I catch a beat down
Word of advice, if you have an office job dont tell anyone that you are doing this. If you do every little black eye, busted lip, cut ect will be a big deal and everyone will mess with you about it. I sent a friend request, let me know what you do and how it goes.0 -
Haha. Good advice. Thanks.0

Did you end up joining Title? I belonged there for awhile - great workouts that leave you looking like you just stepped out of the shower! Unfortunately I moved and they wouldn't move the club with me, so I could continue working out there! LOL!
I agree with Nick - for fitness/calorie burn, it's awesome! But if you want to actually learn to box/spar, you might want to find something geared more towards that.0 -
I've been training at L.A. Boxing for a couple of years. M-W-F mornings, I'm there at 6:30am to train. The classes that we do will definitely help you raise your level of fitness. Running, burpees, squats, lunges, push ups, planks, mountain climbers, etc... We do a lot of heavy bag work, foot work drills, etc. The classes will help you condition your body to be able to spar without gassing in the ring. Hitting a bag is great, but if you want to be a better boxer, you have to get in the ring.
Good luck!0
