The hardest thing for me to overcome when losing weight is that food is ALWAYS on my mind! I just love to eat!

How do you/have you overcome the times when you just want to eat something because you're bored/emotional or for any other bad reason?

Can't wait to see some replies, I'm in the same boat!:ohwell:
  • Hello, I have had the same problem for years. Nerves, bored, emotional, etc. I had all types of reasons to eat. I came to realize that its not what you eat its how much you each. I have learned over the years to each what you want but portion size is a very important factor. So what ever you eat whether it be chips, fries, or burger just eat half the size. If you have to pick a size in portion always pick the smaller size until you get your selections under control. Hope this is helpful. You can do it! Good luck to you!

I try to distract myself by doing something that doesn't involve food......laundry, cleaning, reading, etc.....
  • I am the same way. The only thing that helps me is to remind myself of how good I am going to feel and look when I lose weight. It gets reallly hard sometimes, but I make myself walk away from the kitchen. If you are about to give in and eat something stop and get you a glass of water and busy your self by doing something physical.

There's a thread on here called "Food Addicts Anonymous" that is really insightful and helpful. Check it out!
