MFP automatically calculated calories

Good morning everyone!
I was just wondering, as I lose weight, will MFP automatically recalculate how many calories I should be eating to keep losing a pound a week? Like, for example, right now I am at 1360, if I drop like ten pounds, will it go down to say 1260 or another lower number?

Hi!, yes it recalculates every 5lbs drop in weight although watch out as it doesnt understand when your eating too little... so sometimes its best to set it to loose less per week instead of continue at an agressive level!!

Actually, it only does it automatically if you post weight losses in 5 pound increments (and some other strange algorithmic decision making).

But just go into your settings and put your new weight in and it will recalculate for you. I've had to do this repeatedly.

You know I've been wondering about this because I keep getting a red letter message from mfp asking me if I want mfp to recalculate my goals since I've lost more than 10 lbs, however nothing changes, I guess the explanation is because my goal is already set to 1200 calories a day so it can't go any lower.

Thats wierd, mine did it for me... until i felt it was rediculessly low and decided to set my own (higher) intake goals... now i'm loosing faster and feel 1000 times better!
