Im so lacking my protein intake.. What do you eat to boost up your protein? Im getting tired of chicken, and not a huge meat eater. Also I am dairy free, and can not eat Almonds, Cashews or Walnuts.

Maybe you could try Whey Protein powder and add it to oatmeal or smoothies?

Try cottage cheese (Friendship has the highest amount of protein per serving), greek yogurt. Also many low carb products have a fair amount of protein (low carb wrap with tuna would be a great way to pack in some protein). With respect to the cottage cheese and yogurt, if you are not a fan you can use them in recipes. For example, cottage cheese pancakes, dips made with greek yogurt, etc. You can also make an egg bake. Just blend some eggs (I mix in extra whites) with some precooked veggies, cheese, etc and bake. Cut into squares - great quick grab.

Okay - just saw the dairy problem. Forget the cottage cheese and yogurt.

You could try a protein powder made from peas and rice like Nitrofusion. I liked their vanilla flavor a lot, however it does have a good amount of sodium in it.

So many natural foods have loads of protein:
    - Cottage cheese (crazy amount!)
    - Milk
    - Nuts/Seeds
    - Eggs
    - quinoa
  • I swear by Muscle Milk.. and they make Muscle Milk Light specifically for women, it's amazing!! I will often mix my protein powder with greek yogurt but since you're not a dairy person just add water and you're good to go :)

Whey protein -- Optimum Nutrition, Pro Performance and Premier Nutrition are all about 110 calories, 20+ protein and less then 5 carbs (PN is 160 cals but 30 protein). And all taste really good even mixed with water.

Casein is a good protein too. Takes longer to digest but if you have dairy issues you might have issues with it. ON has really good flavors of that too -- Chocolate Cake Batter is fabulous.
