Rethinking my plan

I made it to almost a full month on Paleo. Most of the time I was without cravings. But that isnt how I want to live. I thought it was. I DO want to eat healthy. I want my 2% milk. I want my healthy bread. So.....as of today....I am following a calories in/calories out plan. This CANT be that difficult. So I will have my salads, and protein but I will also allow for oatmeal in the morning and a small amount of bread with at least one fruit a day.

I will never tell anyone what diet plan they should, or shouldn't, follow (unless it looks like an ED). But, at the same time, I feel strongly that you should be able to eat all the foods you like in moderation. Paleo, Atkins, fasting, etc., is great for some people, but the restrictions would take the joy out of my life.0

Sustainable is the answer.
One of the nice things about the Paleo is lower carbs. You might want to still stick closer to 40-50% of the carbs than higher.
But enjoy that good bread!0 -

Calories in, calories out. I've found it's the most sustainable plan for long term. You have to decide what works best for you, and there is nothing wrong with that!!0 -

This! I personally don't believe that a labelled "diet" is always the key to success. It may help people to start, but I believe it is more of a personal choice. Calories in vs. calories out is the way to go, IMHO0 -
Hi Friend!!! Do what works for YOU!!!! No law that says trying one way to switch to another can't be done! I personally adjust mine constantly! FOR ME I have found keeping carbs below 50 day has me feeling my best but there are days when I want my burger with a really yummy bun! It is getting to know YOUR body and triggers and trying to avoid them. What works for you this week may need to be changed next week! I think we are all searching for a way to eat that doesn't control us and our ever waking thoughts! Play with things and see how they work for you, as always, message me for any supportor help you may need! You have been doing great!0

Paleo is too restrictive for my tastes. I just try to make 80% of my choices good ones, so the other 20% basically goes unnoticed.
I did a Paleo challenge a year ago and I had good results with it, got my body fat where I wanted it to be, and now I added most things back in and haven't gained any weight back because I am still watching my calorie intake!0 -
There are things I am sure of.
1. I dont want to go back to sugar
2. I dont want to go back to white flour
3. I dont want to go back to prepared foods.
I do want to eat healthy...this means more veggies, some fruits home made meals.
I am going to be juicing again. I am going to be buying what I need tonight...so I will evaluate again in one month. Juice on0 -

If you eat a lbs of cooked veggies/raw veggies and 4 pieces/cups of fruit a day, you will be doing what I am doing (Dr. Fuhrman's plan). I have oats in the morning with fruit and nuts, plus some margarine and agave syrup. I had a cooked apple on mine this morning (zapped by the microwave since I am lazy) with that. Was sooo good.0 -
