I DID IT!!.....

I ran my practice half marathon run this AM.
And I did it in 2 hours and 23 mins!!! YEAH for me!!!!! I did it!!! I feel so empowered.
I wanted to be under 2 and a half hours and I was, but it was less about the time and more about seeing if I could run and finish 13.1 miles. I started running at 6:10AM and the only times I stopped were for red light (unfortunately no police holding back traffic this morning. ) . And I felt great, energized; felt like I could have kept running even after I finished. Yeah carbs!!
I was nervous doing this practice run as the race starts in a neighbouring city which I am not at all familiar with. But I am really glad I did it as now I have a feel for the race course, I know what's involved and most importantly, i know now what I am capable of....I now know that I am capable of running 13.1 miles and crossing the finish line. If you had told me 6 months ago that I'd be running a half marathon in Sept, I never would have believed you.
But thanks to all my supportive and encouraging MFP friends, who believed in me...believed that I could do it....you gave me the courage to try; I probably wouldn't have tried without your support. I owe you guys a world of thanks because now I know I can accomplish anything. Yeah!!

Awesome!! I thought of you while I was running my 12 this morning - in fact that is partially what pushed me to make it 12 instead of 11. Think I'll run my race route either next Saturday or the next one.0
