Hi everyone, I have just joined MFP on the advice of my doctor. I would like to have some friends to help keep me motivated and give me ideas how to keep my exercise routine from getting boring. At present I get up at 5:30 every morning, go to the fitness center at the apartments where I live, and work out on the stationary bike and the elliptical trainer for 15-20 minutes. I then go outside to walk for 30-40 minutes. If I don't do this in the morning, I'm afraid it would never happen!

  • Hi Optigal

I'm just starting, too. Someone I met at a seminar decided to eat the amount of calories that would maintain his ideal weight. I think this is a great idea and I want to do it this way, too. It would be more of a life-style change that would be (hopefully) permanent. I think I need to keep it around 1800 cals a day. I wish us both luck. Gracie

Hello, I am new to this site as well. I have always been a yoyo dieter and am hoping this time will be different. My husband and I are both trying to lose weight, he has much less to lose than I do but we are still doing it together. We are trying to take a different approach this time in hopes that we will be successful in keeping the weight off.
This morning I got on my treadmill for the first time in months and did 1.6 miles so not a bad start lol.
