The push is on, but I pull...why!

I'm going into the weekend with the scale up quite a bit...WHY can't I pull away from the fridge with less than a week to go to my major weigh-in?!!! I'm not able to workout like I normally would (mini-surgery)... it's all about the FOOD and that just pisses me off to no end :(

Just a couple of bloody weeks! I have a mini-vacation coming up and some major lab work due at the same time. Is there anything that will help me focus on the big picture?!

Exercise significantly suppresses my appetite and motivates me to stay within my intake boundaries, but without it I'm like an unleashed animal....booo! Water isn't a problem, but even.short walks fall way short and mediation just has me fantasizing about food.
1500 calories and pretty much 40/30/30. I need to drop a couple more lbs, but I'm struggling just to stay at weight.

Please give me your best advice or your swiftest punch...Thx in advance.

Find a better hobby. There are certain things (hobbies) I do that makes me want to grab something to munch on. Video games, TV, Movies however reading a book/magazine i dont get that urge at all. Is there certain times that you get the urge to head to the fridge? Recognize these and avoid until you're back on your feet.
Put a huge picture on the fridge of you when you started this, 19 lbs ago. I have a index card with my goals and a date taped to my PC screen.
    Good Luck!

Yeah...I often lose steam just before the deadline, too. Maybe move your deadline out a couple more weeks

a hobby really is a good idea....something that keeps your mind busy and makes it difficult to munch along with.

When I feel that I am not in the right mindset to lose weight, I try to just eat at a level that I will maintain at. A few hundred calories extra won't hurt. I also try to set a limit on how long I do that, like a few days or weeks. It is hard to be disciplined and consistent all the time and sometimes we need a break. But not a free for all. Those days are over. It also helps to keep a lot of low cal, healthy snacks around to help when you just want to eat. I've been doing popcorn and kale chips, just an idea. Better than eating a bag of potato chips.

Also, I looked at your profile page and want to remind you why you are doing this: "My kids are young and vibrant, I want to be too", and "I refuse to be another statistic" to name a few. These are powerful statements and there is a piece of you that knows what you need to do and that wants to do it. Right now you are getting sidetracked, maybe discouraged. But you can do this, you have been doing this! Give yourself a little mental break, but set a date to get back on track soon! Monday at the latest. Remind yourself of all you have done, what matters to you most, and what it feels like when you are doing what you need to do to be healthy. It sounds like you can't exercise like you are used to right now, so you need to watch what you eat even more. And do try to accept that right now a short walk is all you can do. It is better than nothing, right?

And last, not sure what the weigh in is that you are talking about, but if it is self imposed, move it back a few weeks. The time will pass anyway, you can either spend that time being healthy, or you can spend the time hurting yourself and not reaching your goals.

Once again, you can do this!

If your body is hungry, really actually hungry (meaning not craving anything specific- just hungryyyy) then please listen to her! She isnt in a weigh in competition, she is just trying to get you around to all the places you gotta go. If she is telling you over and over she is hungry - maybe you should feed her and just make sure its all really healthy stuff?
