scotland UK ---- runs

I am Hopeless on the tinternet with a capital H ..... I have searched and searched but cant find any 5KM runs in my area soooooooooo I just wondered if anyone out there knows of any that are up and coming

I have stumbled on a cpl of runs that have said join for £10 (which I do not mind) .. but the same runs seem to be insisting that I need to also get sponsors worth £100 or so to be able to run ....... I have no intention of asking for sponsors every time I have a 5KM, and I need a race to aim for to motivate me to get up off my A** and run.

So does anyone know of a place that allows you to run for just the entry fee? or is it common to have to get sponsors also.
