Hi I'm Paula, I'm nearly 40 and have about 28 lbs to lose. I love getting sweaty and do boxercise , circuit training. I try to run but am not naturally good and just tend to plod along slowly and I've recently started getting in the swimming pool more. Trouble is sometimes I just cannot be bothered to do anything and the tv calls to me so supportive freinds needed especially when superfit hubby is out doing a "quick 10 mile run" I need aims and motivation. Anyone in the same boat it would be good if you could add me .

hello,My name is Sarah and I'm 31 - just added you as a friend.
I'm in training for a half-marathon, so ok at running...but I'm terrible at doing anything other than running! I loathe swimming, can never be bothered to go to the gym and only do strength training when runners' knee gets to me!
I definitely also feel the pull of the TV (especially since I just bought a box-set of The Big Bang Theory...oops!) If I'm being good, I'll pull out the gym ball and do some sit ups while watching. If not, I'll scoff a bag of M&Ms. Again, oops!
I often set weekly goals, which seems to help me get moving. e.g. next week, the aim is to do at least one 'abs' session and one upper body. I'm a bit of a geek, so ticking things off a list makes me feel better.0 -
Hi! My Name is Monique and gonna be 43 next month.
I have 40lbs to go to reach my mid term goal. I can't run either (bad knees) but I love kickboxing. Trying to find other things that are not to harsh on my knees. For now It's kickboxing, treadmill and I started getting into lifting weights.
I have a lot of 'distractions" mostly its just being lazy. I haven't figured out how to add friends yet. I'd like too add you tho.
BTW...love your profile pic of the cat...so cute.0 -
Try cycling with hubby when he is doing 'a quick 10 mile run' I go with my mate, who is far from slow and I really enjoy it, and it is so much easier on a bike, and something you can do together.0

Very few people are naturally good at running - it takes time to build speed and endurance. Have you ever tried following a structured programme like couch to 5k? Given that your partner is a runner, being able to run with him, eventually l, might be appealing?0

Hi to all my new friends.
Thanks for the advice, I do like the idea of getting a bike. Usually when hubby is out dfor a run I also go out for a plod but he goes out so early in the morning I have difficulty hauling my large butt out of bed!! I can already run 5k and i found when i did couch to 5k i loved the walking breaks a little too much so it didn't really work for me!! At the moment i am doing shorter runs but with lots of hills included which is something i have a phobia of, so a little goes along way. I think I just need to be challenged!!!! When people tell me I cant do something I have to prove them wrong. So at anytime feel free to shout at me and give me grief!!!
Oh and the cute cats name is Pixie Boy..

Friend request sent. I'm 43 and can now call myself a runner. I was like you - definitely not a natural runner, I still think I look goofy when I run, but stick with it. Now I look forward to running, its become my stress release at the end of a long day at work. Just take it slow, you'll see progress (mental as well as physical). I'm training for my first half marathon in October (hoping to do it under 2 hours).0
