daily weigh ins. odd readings

Hoping someone can shed some light on why this happens.
I check my weight daily. First thing in the morning after I use the washroom and in my underwear for the most accurate reading.
I've been staying within calories/fat and exercising daily. When I check the scale in the morning it will go up and not move for several days then one morning it will go down 2 pounds or so. I have been losing weight overall but these readings are not consistant at all.

Water weight most likely..... this is why I don't even weigh weekly anymore, but monthly. I can go up and down by 5-7 lbs depending on the time of month and my diet and exercise.0

All kinds of issues are at play. It's all about a consistent pattern over time. You may have a day where you *gasp* gain a couple pounds, Just keep doing the right things most of the time, and you will see a general downward trend. That's your goal.0

Perfect reason to only weigh in once a week like I do on Wednesday mornings... Your weight can go up or down by as much as 5 lbs. a day depending on water retention among other things.... Best of Luck0
