Good for so many things - allows us to have some of our favorites but much lower calorie... ohhh... YUM-O!...
my 200ish calorie snacks that involve PB2: (i generally add 2 packets of organic sugar for 20 extra calories to my chocolate dip - and always use a double portion for 1/4 cup of PB2)
Sliced Apples with Chocolate PB2 Dip
Mini Pretzels with Chocolate PB2 Dip
Whole wheat sandwich thins, toasted, spread with either regular PB2 or Chocolate PB2
Whole wheat sandwich thin, spread with 1/4 cup mixed PB2, and topped with 1 tblspn brown sugar.
The latest one, is a refined version of my Peanut butter and Brown sugar sandwich weakness. I LOVE LOVE those - but at 500-600 calories for a sandwich, not something I can allow myself to have regularly. Or at least, not something I want to use up that many calories for on a regular basis. PB2 and the whole wheat thins, get this calorie count down do around 230 - respectable for a SNACK!
I try to keep my snacks around 200 calories - and between the regular PB2, and the chocolate which kind of reminds me of nutella (not exactly) - this stuff is absolutely a staple in my daily diet now.
What do you use it for?

I love PB2. I haven't tried the chocolate one yet although I have been eyeing it. I don't care for apples but this might spark my interest. Thanks0

I always do 1/4 cup for every mix I do - it's 90 calories for either chocolate or regular PB2 and makes a nice serving size.
I measure it, into a small bowl, it's always 2 part powder to 1 part liquid. For chocolate I add 2 packets of organic sugar since I gave up all other artificial sweeteners - the organic is 10 cals a packet, so 20 calories brings it to 110).
Mix the powder and sugar first to blend, then add the water. Depending on the consistency, I may add a bit more water to thin it - but BE careful, I have ended up with chocolate soup before. LOL. no problem, I just made a double batch in that case and either enjoyed it and allotted for the extra 100 calories, or saved it for later.
Once mixed, put on a plate and surround with a sliced large apple - fuji here - about 120 - so around 230 for the whole plate. Complete with protein and fiber and healthy carbs.
YUM!
I am trying to avoid adding sugar to the regular PB2 and just adding the water to it. Then if I want my PB and brown sugar sandwich, the single tablespoon of brown sugar for - 36? calories) still puts me around 230 ish for the sandwich.
drool. if you haven't tried this, trust me, it's so worth it.
ETA: you don't HAVE to add sugar to the chocolate - or either for that matter. it has a little sugar in it, but, I really enjoy it this way. the plain tastes more like natural peanut butter without the added sweetness if you choose not to add it. that's really the main difference in sweetness, plain is more like natural, added sweetener gets you a more jif flavor. if you haven't ever had it though, be prepared for it to taste different - it doesn't have anywhere NEAR the fat content of peanut butter (hence the lower calorie) but also means it's not so smooth and easy to spread. It's an acceptable alternative...0 -
A frozen banana (cut up), a cup or less of plain almond milk and 2 TBS of PB2 (chocolate or plain) blended together in my magic bullet is awesome!!
A cup of plain ff Greek Yogurt mixed with 2 TBS of either type of PB2 is another favorite treat.
Also it makes a great Peanut Butter Pie--I don't have the exact recipe in front of me-but it includes ff cream cheese, PB2, a little powdered sugar, and cool whip. I make a low fat homemade graham cracker crust --the entire family loves it!! I tweaked a recipe from the Skinny Taste website.
Someone just told me yesterday they add it to their coffee--I'm going to try to make a frozen coffee using it.0 -
Oh I love it too!!!!!!!! I cannot get enough of it in Fage greek yogurt! Couple packets of splenda, PB2, and I'm all over it! In fact, I cannot keep enough yogurt in the house right now! Mmmmmmmmm0

Thank you!0 -
It's cheaper on Amazon. I just bought 2 for 10.00 and no shipping. If you buy 25.00 worth of stuff its free shipping. So I just threw in a case of pop chips and I was good with the shipping.0
