What to do when people invite you to eat at their house?!?

My best friend just called to incite me over to her boyfriends house for dinner. I said yes then asked what they were having. She said macaroni and cheese with tuna. OMG. I didn't know what to say! I dont do a cheat day and macaroni and cheese is something I used to eat a box of!

I already said I would go. Should i stop by the store to get a bag of salad and some strawberries so we at least have something healthy? I could just bring my own meal (all i would have to do is cook a chicken breast) but I don't want to seem rude or make a huge deal out of it.

I'm actually a little upset with her. She knows how I have been eating and working out. I think I am going to have to have a talk with her about it : /

I ate at my parents house the other day and after asking a bunch of questions about what my mom put in everything, I asked for a 1/4 cup measuring cup and used it to measure what I put on my plate.

Well you have three options here. 1) Make up some excuse why you can't go. 2) Go, but explain to her that you have to take your own food because you're on a diet. 3) Go, and just have a cheat day.

You could also bring a huge beautiful:happy: salad "because you wanted to contribute to the meal" then have a large portion of that and just a little macaroni.

I second this.... but will also add: consume some healthy protein at home before leaving. That way when you arrive at your friend's house, pile that salad up, do a true literal serving of the mac-n-cheese...

Option 4) Offer to bring an appetizer and bring a salad with healthy dressing. Have a lot of salad, some tuna and a very small amount of the mac and cheese. If you budget your calories earlier in the day, you should be able to stay under your limit. Good luck!

ask if its ok to bring something, say that doesn't sound like much do you mind if I bring some salad or fruit to go with it?
