Well how is this for a first post. I've attached photos of before, 360 pounds, and during, 260 pounds.
I am currently at 250.
I started to try to lose weight in 2010 when I quite smoking after 22 years. I have COPD and the breathing issues were terrible. I did not want to gain weight while quitting so I made some changes and lost 35 pounds while quitting. The changes were to diet only, no exercise.
I did nothing in 2011 but managed to maintain the weight loss throughout the year.
March of this year I started to lose again. Slow results, but I was losing.
I was diagnosed with Diabetes at the end of April. I knew it was the wake up call I needed. I found MFP in May while looking for a way to track carbs, but I found so much more. I have tracked every single calorie and minute of exercise since.
I am down 75 pounds this year since March, and 110 pounds total. My A1C is down from 10.5 to 6.0. At 5' 6" and 250 pounds, I still have a long way to go, but I thought I'd post to show the results so far.

You are looking great! Congratulations on taking your health into your own hands. I know lots of people are able to keep diabetes in check through diet and exercise. I'm trying to do the same for PCOS0

The breathing is doing great.
Thanks. When I first started I could hardly make it 5 minutes on an stationary bike. Now I am riding 10 miles 5 to 7 times a week on a regular bike. I also do two mile walks a minimum of 4 days a week. (Dog needs to lose weight, too)0 -
