Sooo I weighed myself this morning for the first time since I started counting calories...and I have lost 4 pounds!!! BUT I don't know how accurate my scale is because 4 pounds seems like alot to loose in a little over a week. But at least I lost something. And dont get me wrong..Im very excited...but I dont look any different. My clothes still fit the same. I wish I looked a little lighter but its still good. And I havent gone to the gym or worked out once...all I've been doing is counting calories.

I lost 4 pounds my first week, I think some of it was water weight. It's totally possible, and good for you!!
  • I understand how you feel but I heard once you have to lose atleast 15 lbs before you begin to notice a difference. Not sure if thats true or not but I have completed my first week of cardo and counting calories and am down 8.2 lbs in one week. Dont feel bad, I dont feel or look any different either! Good luck I know you can do it!

I had a scale problem, myself: I'd actually lost 13lbs, not the 4 my "vintage" scale was reporting. If it really irks you, borrow a friend's scale for a week and compare. Logging your body measurements once a week is also an excellent gague once fat starts to be replaced by muscle.

Also, tons of weight loss in the first few weeks is totally normal, especially when you're coming from an unhealthy lifestyle, nutritionally and physically. My boyfriend dropped over 20lbs his first month--JUST from cutting out fast food, soda and smoking. :grumble: I've lost 15lbs to his 35 and I exercise religiously. Each body is different. Just stick to your fitness and nutrition plans and the weight will continue to come off!

It's true.. it takes about 15-20 pounds to be able to tell a difference. But when you reach that point, it seems to be a really big change. I know I got many compliments around my 15-20 pound mark. It was like I woke up one morning and even I could see the big change... strange, but true lol. You're well on your way though! Keep up the great work!

Must be true about when its noticeable because this week is the first time since losing weight that I have received compliments. I've lost 19pds so far.

The water weight, I believe, is right. I am mostly muscle mass that's why it's so hard for me to try to "look" like I have lost weight even after a lot of exercise after a few weeks. Congrats on busting 4 lbs though!

    Way to go!!!
