So my husband and I both really need to get back into shape. We started off the year strong but we have tapered off since then. I think a weight loss challenge would be a fun way to try to shed the pounds! But I need help...I've never done this before so I'm not sure how long we should do it, if we should have weekly challenges and what the prize might be at the end. Any thoughts? Have any of you done this with your spouse? I would love some ideas!!!

From personal experience, I have to bust my butt to loose and hubby can just give uo chocolate and soda and loose, so I would not do it unless it were pants size or something like that, then I may have a chance.

We're the same way. He'll lose 5 pounds to my 2 pounds. We're going to measure it by % body weight lost like they do on The Biggest Loser.

Then it sounds like a great idea. A little challenge may keep you motivated :-)

Once I finish my PT sessions, mu husband and I are planning on doing the Couch to 5k. We both love running and this will be a great way for us to spend time together, lose weight, and build our endurance. We've also been walking while taking our daughter bicycling, so more fitness while spending time together. :)

I'm not sure if I'd make it a weight lose competition between us since guys are easily/quicker at losing then women. Maybe if your husband had MFP too, y'all could keep each other in check with calories. Or maybe a fun date if the week has gone good.

Make a game of it. Don't do it by pounds lost of course because he will beat you straight off. Men can lose weight a lot faster than women. Go by body fat percentage lost, not total body fat percentage because, again, men can get a lot smaller than women in that area and maintain at a lower rate. That will keep your motivation fueled to beat him every week. Hope you do well!
