To keep or not to keep?

I was cleaning out my medicine cabinet and found some Lipo-6 for her, that have not expired. I have a decent amount left and am debating if I should finish them up. Part of me thinks I might as well since I spent the money on them, but the other part of me is telling me they really may not do anything for me and should just stick to diet and exercise. However when I was taking them they did help curb my appetite tremendously ( I over eat!) The reason I stopped taking them to begin with is because I'm awful at keeping a pill schedule... and didn't take them long enough to see any "results." I know diet pills aren't ideal for long term weight loss but I'm on the fence about this!

Just curious as to what other MFP's would do.... keep and take or throw away?

Agreed. There are no quick fixes. Diet and exercise.

    Diet and exercise

This is what I would suggest too. You can do this without pills.

    Agree...diet and exercise. No gimmicks.

    I would chuck 'em.
  • No gimmicks isn't that the truth! The reason I purchased them originally was because a close friend of mine lost 60 pounds with of course diet and exercise but also these lipo-6's. I just hate wasting money, but hey I already did that when I bought them right?

    Thanks for the answers guys!
  • I'd toss and I'll tell you why.

I just had some serious family stuff go down and I had no appetite. For about 6 days, I ate around 400 - 500 calories - mostly less. I just couldn't motivate myself to do it.

My appetite was suppressed so I was eating less. I lost nearly 5lbs. In any other situation, I'd be totally psyched about losing 5lbs! lol

Now as I am feeling better about things, and I've started eating normally (my usual calorie allotment) - it's pretty much all come back, which I'm actually glad about. I know I can't do serious damage to myself in that amount of time, but I was still worried.

This is pretty much what happens when when you take diet pills. You aren't hungry, you don't eat. You appear to be losing, and you do a happy dance! And as soon as you stop with the pills, and stick with your diet as before you'll probably be sorely disappointed when your scale creeps back up!

So, long winded stories aside - diet & exercise, please :-)

Do the diet and exercise. I had Alli left that don't expire till next month and I won't touch them because Im seeing more successful results on my own I don't want to use diet pills as a crutch thinking I need them to fix my weight when I don't.

Good point!! There are other ways to curb my appetite, so I'll be throwing them away tonight after work.

Were they really curbing your appetitie or was it a placebo effect? You can do it!

Its very possible it could of been a placebo effect!! But it seemed to me like it was curbing. Who knows! I will just stick with diet and exercise :)
