Jogging with double buggy ?

I am going to restart running again after the arrival of our lovely daughter, currently 5 weeks old.

I completed C25K late 2011 but am out of shape atm, as I haven't exercised for the last four months of pregnancy till yesterday !

When school restarts, I am going to start doing a regular morning walk with my pram and two youngest children and hope to build up to jogging later on.

I am wondering how practical it would be to do some slow running/jogging with a Phil & Ted Vibe pram with a baby and toddler on board. Will my Phil & Teds pram be OK as a jogging pram ?

I hope this pram will be suitable, as it does have hand brake on push bar, air filled tyres, fixable front wheel and safety strap but it isn't a proper jogging pram...that said I won't be going that fast and only on local pavements.

Also how old does the baby have to be before I start jogging ? I know a fast walk is fine now but different sources say the baby must be 6 weeks or 6 months before I jog with them in the pram.

Is it when baby has good head control and is in a proper five point harness seat, rather than the lie flat cocoon ?

Just looking for some pointers.

TIA

If you're walking and working up to a light run, the Vibe is probably stable enough, but give it a test run without the kids in it and make seems okay. I wouldn't try to go very fast with it. (That said, I have a proper double running stroller and between the weight of two kids and way it shortens my stride, I can't go very fast with it anyway). Everything I've read about running with baby says six months - I think head control is the main issue.

No idea about phil & ted's, I have a BOB revolution duallie. My kids had crazy good head control, but I used an infant headrest in my stroller while in recline and started running when they were six weeks.

Yes, I guess it is head control issues with little ones.

I reckon it will be enough of a challenge to walk a regular long walk for the next couple of months. Then I will look at my baby's head control and how old she is before I try slow running.
