Confused?

Hi there
WHen I put in my weight of 68kg and height of 163cm into the BMR calculator, it said the calories needed if you did nothing but rest was about 2300kcal for the day. Yet when I have gone into and set up my profile, it says the total calories are 1800 and then I take the 500kcal off (to lose 0.5kg / week) and so it is 1300kcal (very hard!!). And add on if do exercise.
I thought it would be 2300kcal - 500 to get the 1800kcal as my net calorie limit, and then add to that if i do exercise? Have I mucked it up? or just not getting it?

There have been many posts on this subject, try looking around on the forums to get more info (also eat more to weigh less is a good one) - you need to make sure you eat your exercise cals back, MFP allows for it when you set up your settings.0

MFP already took 500 calories off your BMR. That's where your 1800 number is coming from. MFP does it automatically.0

I also think you must of typoed your numbers when originally entering them to get a BMR of 2300cal with your stats. I went to a few BMR calculators and simply could not get that sort of number for a person of your height/weight.0

You did it correct. I'm at 1800 cals a day myself but I'm doing 1400.0
